I don't know about you guys but the card is fine. I've seen it run Crysis at 1920x1080 @ 60FPS at a friend house. That's good enough for me. Stiil, I'd rather save for a future budget card.
EDIT: And stop with this ATI>NVIDIA or NVIDIA>ATI nonsense. They trade positions on card superiority every few months. It doesn't mean a damn thing. Right now ATI has the lockdown on high-end videocards while nVidia has the lock on med-high video cards at the moment. And awhile ago nVidia was in the lead for quite the longest time. It really doesn't matter.

8800GTS 512MB is HALF the price of a 3870X2 and you are telling me that the X2 has good price performance.:lol:The 8800gts is not half the price, it is about $300, the 3870x2 is about $400.
Just because one card has a better price/performance than another doesn't mean that the other is a horrible piece of ****
It is like saying that one NHL player is better than another NHL player, so the worse one sucks.
The 3870x2 is significantly better than the 8800gts 512MB for $100 more. If someone wants to pay $100 for a significant boost in performance great, if not, than that is great too. Either way you walk away with a great performing card.
Oh wait, the 3870x2 is ATI, so you would never think about touching it.

he is talking about the average price, not the lowest price possible. If i felt like trying i could find a 3870x2 for 350.

lol let me know when your 8800gt can hit 19,200 on 3dmark06... and just about every review i've seen the x2 scores at the LEAST 20% higher in all games except maybe crysis. Which will change, I heard from a good source the 8.4 drivers will "even" the gap in performance between nvidia and ati in crysis.
don't get me wrong I'm not an ATI fanboy, I've got a 9800gx2 on the way just because it beats my current card. I also don't really favor this dual card solution but until either company comes out with their next gen (which looks like around Sept time frame) it'll have to do.
SSGWright
3d mark blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I have never stoped and looked at 3d marks in in review. real tests are what counts, and 8800gt beats 3870 in crysis and that's what counts

Gl with that. The average for a GTS now is $230 w/ MIR. With the 3870x2 inconsistent performance (for now) the GTS 512 has to be considered the best price/performance.u guys are forgetting that the new ATI card can be in 16x awhile the whole 9 geforce series is only in 2.0
i been with geforce when voodoo died but since i cant get the 9 ill just switch to ATI
my mother board cant do 2.0 and not wanting to upgrade

PCI express 2.0 cards offer higher bandwidths with 2.0 mobos but they are also backwards compatible. They will work on all PCI express motherboards.
