MW2 officially $59.99 for PC

Thats a big blow every other new release is $49.99 , i for one will get this game for free. I hate Activision and their day one DLC map packs.

I will wait for a price drop or just not get this game. No game is worth $50 or even 60 in my books. But then I'm just a poor sap slaving away in University.

Shoot. I was hoping that was a rumour, but I guess I'll be waiting on MW2 a bit. Which might take a long time. If I remember correctly, CoD4 was still 40/50 dollars long after its release (50 in Canada, 40 in the States, and it was on sale too).

But with games like Dragon Age and Borderlands, not to mention Alpha Protocol, coming out all in October... I probably won't have the money nor the time for COD, come November.

Good thing I'm boycotting Activision products, although if Blizzard starts doing this with SC then so long, your not getting in my wallet.

In a year, an 'even better' COD game will be out, and the multiplayer community may generally jump to that...so then there wouldn't be any point buying MW2.

Meh, anyway, Activision are just deliberately raising the prices because they know the game will sell well. This isn't surprising - they're already churning out a game a year for each of their franchises. Plus, they're trying to sue Tim Schafer, which automatically makes them the most evil company ever.

Great plan to fight piracy activision. Most likely the pc version will sell badly because of the $60 price tag where as all pc games are priced in the $40-50 rangeand activision will come out crying about piracy on pc and that their game was pirated to hell and back. Let alone this is another cod which they shouldnt be charging more than $20-30 for it considering how long the campaign is and that just like since cod4 very cod since then feels like expansion

Activision pulled the same crap with Doom 3 but the price dropped to $50 within a few weeks.

Same gameplay as CoD 4 (which is essentially the same as CoD 1 except you have health regen and a quick melee attack), sp that's short enough to beat in a single sitting, slightly improved visuals, and priced $10 higher. For what? No thank you, too many other quality games coming out later this year/early next year. And if it's anything like the original the price still won't drop a year after release. This one gets a PASS.

I honestly don't know why everyone is screaming piracy... I mod at a filesharing forum, and the people who pirate do it for convenience. There was a thread on Call of Duty and most people bought it, again for convenience to play online. I think MW2 will sell well because of the online component.

no guarantee of that, look at the price of cod 4 still. and thats AFTER another Waw was released. still 50 euro on steam last time i checked.

This.And they'll use it as an excuse for DRM crap next time.

They have managed to take two of my favorite franchises and completely butcher them(CoD and Tony Hawk, which despite what everyone says, was amazing up until after underground 2).

Hopefully they don't try to pull this crap with Mafia II.

i think its kinda worth it.. i will wait for bargin bin but its worth it i spend tons of time on the first one
