Some people are upset over the lack of features so they boycott it by not buying it and giving it low ratings, even though they probably have not played it. However, the game continues to sell well and the people who have say it is a good game. Is mod support and dedicated servers a really big deal to you? If so, you might want to avoid this one.

basically the ratings were brought way down from PC gamers that hates this game without even having it. I am not going to buy MW2, it is a HUGE rip-off and an insult to PC gaming. But I am mature enough to know that I should not rate it bad without playing it. I guess others aren't.

I consider it a huge disappointment and let down for pc gamers. I will probably get it some time down the road but not for pc but for ps3 or 360. I would of bought it first day had they done it right for pc. Also, 60 dollars for it on pc is way too much.

A disappointment but you haven't actually played it yet? I bought it for the same price as any other game I bought this year.

look I dont get this.."if you haven't played it dont say nothing" logic.. you expect ppl to go ahead and buy the game with no demo no nothing..and waste $60 dollars on game that has less features than it previous title....that's not how it works..there is plenty of information on the web..enough for ppl to make up their decision on buying it...ppl research the products they buy before actually buying it..

You, sir, win this thread.

Seriously, when we KNOW certain things that are not in the game, and that could hamper the playing experience, why would we rush off and buy it anyway? Why wouldnt we get the demo and see for ourselves if our fears have been realized or that it is a good purchase?

And console games cost more because of licensing. PC games dont have this issue yet they raise the price anyway. Ugh.

I went ahead and bought Operation Flashpoint without the demo, KNOWING that it had no dedicated servers, but hoping all the concerns would be squashed. Guess what, that game was unplayable. I dont know how it is now, but that was over a month ago. And now, a month later, you want me to go and buy another game that I have the same concerns with without any sort of demo? Really?

Heres a rundown.

SP - Short, a LOLWUT? story, lots of guns and explosions and some furious AI chokepoints. (You need luck and lots of it to get through)

MP - The only thing i hate is p2p match up but it works ok so far. 9v9 doesn't make it a fragfest but maps can be bigger right? Oh might I add more gun customization!!!

I haven't tried Spec-ops mode but this game is MP core with SP tacked onto it. If you plan to buy it for SP don't. I really regret buying this on PC but then again I can't play shooters for the life of me on consoles...

I think I would be pissed as well if this was the only game on PC to cost 60$. It also lacks a ton of features from the last game...

Xfire says today that in his debut MW 2 is played in PC by about 1/10 of the people that currently is playing COD 4. In time the differences aren't as bigger because most of people is still playing the campaign, but in a few weeks the numbers will be balanced ant then mostly of the players and time will be references of the multiplayer.

Then will be a good time to evaluate the impact and degree of success/failure of the IWNET system. They will not have much more time to react because the open beta for BC 2 in PC will start in matter of a couple of months.

It's actually much better than I thought. The single player is really fun (i wish that they would actually fill in more of the story), though leaning would make it a bit more tactical (though I guess it would make it more easy). Spec ops mode is really enjoyable as well, some of the missions are really short such as breach and clear but playing it online co-op is great.

Multiplayer is also good though the whole IW.NET can be a bit of a pain. Sometimes I do get put into games with only 2 bars. The highest player cap for TDM is 18 players contrary to what people say, there is initially a 12 player tdm mode so really you can choose which ones to play. I may have come across a hacker or two already (i.e. lvl 70 on day after release with 100% aim tracking, though he could just be good). All in all the multiplayer pretty awesome, though if it had dedicated servers, I have no doubt that it would be the best multiplayer around. I rate it a success. Hopefully they release a patch to adjust the NAT restrictions some people have and also I hope that the DLC isn't the same price as a full game.

i don't know why but when i checked out the review for mw2 on the pc some gave it a 1.0 to 5.0 range.i mean seriously, all the reviews game companies wrote are good, but how come some people hated it? so is it really as godly as it's suppose to be or a mess for pc players?(some gave it a 10 including me)

also, they said something about dedicated servers.....help explain?

TheAnimalAK47

I would be realy suprised if 50% of the people who rated it 1 actualy played the game

look I dont get this.."if you haven't played it dont say nothing" logic.. you expect ppl to go ahead and buy the game with no demo no nothing..and waste $60 dollars on game that has less features than it previous title....that's not how it works..there is plenty of information on the web..enough for ppl to make up their decision on buying it...ppl research the products they buy before actually buying it..

devious742

it's simple, no one tells you to buy it without informing yourself first, what you should di is to wait for reviews from people that actualy played the game

if it is realy so bad that should reflect in the review score

people who haven't played it have from my perspective no right to rate the game, if the game is realy bad, the people who buyed it will rate it low, if they don't rate it low? well then the game isn't bad

Alright, i bought the game, didn't hear about all the "problems" it had... i like the single player, but call of duty games are all about the online. and they truly did fail on this one. sure, the maps are huge and pretty, what you can do in game is nice, but with out people running their own servers, and the low max player per game type KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLED this game for me and many others. not to mention the fact their making PC users pay for updates now. If their care about their PC gamers, they will come out with an update giving people thier server rules back, uping the max players per game type, that would be enough to make 95% of PC gamers happy.. the onther 5%? free update like they have ALWAYS done.

9v9 killed it for me. I like constant action, there is no reason at all for them to go from 32v32 to 9v9, none.
