MW3 - No Dedicated Servers - Kotaku

According to this source MW3 will not have dedicated servers:

"We've also learned, unfortunately, that this latestCall of Dutystill won't support dedicated servers, instead relying on the hosted servers found in previous iterations of the game. Dedicated servers were removed from the Modern Warfare games starting withModern Warfare 2".

Makes it a tough sell. I got a lot of hours out of MW2, some problems yes, but still more than Black Ops.

But considering the state of the last game this could compound the problems.

I know this will be a deal breaker for a lot of people :(

That would be the most idiotic thing I have ever see any developer do. No seriously, you would have the dumbest **** in the world to make that decision. Especially after the insane backlash before.

No surprise there. The pirates will get Dedicated Servers, they'll just create the tools. they did it before with MW2.

probably another greedy strategy, its a matter of time for dedicated servers to be available to "elite" suscriptors only

If true, I will probably avoid. MW2's hackers and lag were really annoying, but the game made up for it with its gameplay.. at least to some degree. I'm not expecting to get the same feel of the game from these new devs, though.
