my bios won't recongize any of my hardware (cd drive and hdd)

i'm putting together my first build, and its alot harder then wat ppl are saying. mainly due to too many wires. lol

anyways, i was really excited to see my pc boot up, but once i got into the bios, it doesn't seem to recongize my drives :S

also for those who have/had the case haf 932 advance, what is that red wire for?

So in your bios your CD/HDD don't show up? That sounds like an issue with the sata cables are you sure they're plugged in right?

So in your bios your CD/HDD don't show up? That sounds like an issue with the sata cables are you sure they're plugged in right?

lol, i'm not even sure if they are plugged it right to be frank. i got one sata wire running into my cd drive and another sata port from the same wire into my hdd

There are sata ports on the motherboard. You plug your sata cable from the hdd to one port. You also plug one sata cable from the CD Drive to a port on the motherboard also.

i'm trying it now, i was looking for my sata cables. lol thought the motherboard didn't come with it. stress. more stressful then school/work. lol

I've never heard of a motherboard not coming with Sata cables...

Also make sure that those components are connected to the power supply. You can't really go wrong most of the time if you look at the design of each connector. Also, be aware that sometimes you'll only use PART of a connector to connect the device to the power supply.. while the other part is hanging off the side.. The best analogy I can make is if you look at the electric plug in the wall. It has 3 holes, but most of your electronics only use 2. That's kinda how the power supply is.
