I got a full tower for christmas and decided today i had the time to break it in. Well i got everything inside it but now i cant get it to power on or anything. One thing that did happen when i jiggled the case power switch-hdd light-reset switch-etc... you know those skinny cables coming from the case, i dont know the names. Any who i jiggled them to make sure they pressed in firmly and the computer kept restarting. I unplugged everything and put it all back together but i haven't been able to get it to do anything since.

A few things i should note is that my last case had only 1 case fan, while the new case has 3 and a front panel light below the disc trays.

Is it possible my psu just cant run everything now since it has the new fans?

it could.. but id also make sure your power button is hooked up correctly.. those little jumper pins get annoying... they go in a certain way.. otherwise things dont work.
9é10 if its the psuès fault its because the mobo power cable is either not correct or not in correctly.

only one.. the 97 audio is basic stereo audio the hd audio is more common on modern motherboards basically its integrated 2.1 channel audio you either have one.. or the other not both.

edit after re reading your origional post i need to ask 2 questions

1) which case did you get

2) what power supply do you have now ?

Case sounds like a Gigabyte Posseidon III.

But three fans aren't going to max-out your power supply. Probably, as IonusX pointed out and you hinted at, the front panel wiring isn't hooked up properly. take a flashlight and a dose of patience and check if all the small plugs are sitting in their right spot.

Post the brand and type of your mainboard and we'll look for a scheme...

Make sure everything is plugged into the motherboard firmly and recheck that the pins from the power switch are in the proper place on your motherboard. If nothing works you probably have a bad power supply.

It's probably the polarity of the header cables.

Colored is +, white is -

That's actually a good one. Check the easy stuff first before digging around.

His front panel power switch light flickered and then went schtumm, so the PSU is likely "on"...

you're trying to put an old machine into a new case..that's your problem. You have to buy a new rig to put in the new case for a matching set.

Got a feeling the case led, power button, and reset pins are crossed. Get your mobo and case and look to see which pin goes with mobo socket?

There may be a grounding problem, as a last ditch trouble shooting effort you might take your motherboard out of the case and hook everything up on the outside on top of a cardboard box such as the one the case came in. Should look sort of like this:

Make sure you unplug any extra stuff that came with the case. I once moved a board to a new case and it would not turn on. I found out it was one of the usb connectors from the new case that it didn't like.
