i want to burn music on a disc. i used to be able to burn pics/music (i did a few months ago) but now it doesn;t want to work. i put it in the burner (a blank 700mb or whatever cd) that i always use and it nothing comes up. i heard that under start > my computer > cd drive e (my burner) right click on properties) > and there should be 5 tabs: general, autoplay, hardware, sharing and RECORDING. mine doesn't have a RECORDING tab. i never cheack so i don't know if it wa ever there but i used to be able to burn discs. what up with this?

oh, and my burner is a SAMSUOG! CE-S/SW!SW-349F! (thats wat is says under my harware tab)

Obtain the driver package from the Samsung site.

Go the the device managed and delete the entry for your DVD drive.

Restart.

Exit the "Found New Hardware" window that pops up when the desktop loads.

Run the .exe in the package you downloaded.

If you havent formatted or reinstalled it Could be your drive took a *Dump*. Insert a movie or game disk or something and click on -my computer to see if the drive detects your disk. Also check your ide/ata cable to see if it is loose or disconnected. Chances are it has nothing to do with your drivers your drive just took a sh**. Theres some nice Sony DVD-Rs for cheap on newegg.com for $30-$50.
