I plugged everything into the mobo (including the power button and reset and such), and plugged power into everything. When it didn't turn off me and a friend double checked everything but it still wont turn on (and I flipped the switch on the back of the psu). I'm not sure whats wrong with it and hopefully none of the parts broke because I tried to be careful with static. If I could get any assistance on what I might have done wrong, and maybe even what I should do to trouble shoot, it would be most appreciated. Thank you for the assistance in advance!

Do you have the 8-pin CPU power connector attached to the motherboard? Are you getting any sort of lights on the motherboard, fans spinning, anything?

I did plug in the 8-pin, but there is no response at all. The fans don't move, the motherboard doesn't light up, nothing...

If the 20/24pin and the 4/8pin are in correctly and you're getting no lights on the motherboard, either your motherboard or your PSU is busted.

And make sure the 4 pin is in the right way - I had it in the wrong way the first time I did it, and had the same issue as you.

Could be a busted PSU.

If it does not spin, make noise, flash led's I'm almost sure the PSU is the problem.

Check if it is correctly connected to the motherboard, or try another one.

Flick the switch on your power supply. Maybe it's on off.

do the paperclip test with your power supply, if it turns on, it's probably a problem with the motherboard.

If there is a problem with the processor, what do I do to check it? I already put on the heat sink so do I need to get new thermal glue? Also, what is the power supply paper clip test...?

You want to narrow it down one step at the time so begin with the power supply as that seems to be the culprit:

The paperclip test is when you take a paperclip, shape it into a c shape, then plug it into 2 of the 24 pins. You might want to look it up for further instructions though.

Does the paper clip test have any negative effects towards the computer (assuming it isn't already broken)?

I did the paper clip test and the fan on psu turn on. Is there anyway to test if my motherboard is busted? Is there anything else I should check before panicking.

Take a few pictures of your case so we can see that you wired everything right.
