He have an Okia 550w PSU, is this enough for an HD 4850?
Okia is a generic name brand?
What is the worst that can happen if he buy the card and hook it up to his PC?

He have a E7200, 2GB ram, 1 HDD, and 1 DVD drive and some case fans. Not a very power hungry PC at all.

That depends on the quality and amps of the power supply rails. The minimum power supply recommendation is 450 watts for a 4850.The worst thing that could happen is that it won't work because of low amps or insufficient power.Generic power supplies are notorious for being weak.Give it a shot, that Okia power supply seems okay from what I've heard.

may be somewhat generic, but i still think its enough, take a look at the side of the PSU and tell us how many A there are on the 12v+ rail (s)

If its this PSU, it has enough power for that system + 4850.

But never heard of the brand before.

I used to own an Okia (I think it was 400W). It couldn't reliably power a single-core Athlon 3200/Nvidia 7600GT system, which shouldn't draw more than 150W in normal usage. I don't know if his PSU is any different from mine, but I personally wouldn't trust it with a 4850. It might be able to power the system, but I doubt it will provide clean, stable power.

EDIT: The PSU linked in the post above me is what I owned, though maybe not that wattage. It wasn't as good as the user reviews indicate (those reviews are why I picked such an inexpensive PSU in the first place).

I think it would be fine. The worse that should happen, is your PC would be unstable at high load and you'd have to get a new PSU. Mine only does 18 amps on 12v, it runs fine.

I can only say 60% that PSU will work... I'm not PSU expert though, but as long as your have 2 separate +12V rails (+12V1 and +12V2) it will run... Try using the +12V1 for the HD 4850 6-power pin connector... because it has 20A...

LOL. Took me a few seconds to realize you were using ghetto-speak, there.

Anyway, Okia isn't a quality brand as far as I know so one could expect unstable voltages on it, but it should be able to give enough watts for that system even so, and 38 combined amps should be more than sufficient for a 4850 and E7200.
