yesterday when i went to play Crysis the game was poping alot of different soild screen full of colors. like green blue purple Orange. so i let it go by. but then when i got on here on the forum and on myspace. i notice the post on here and my friends updates on myspace. the lettering are like shaking a little.

i thought it was my eyes but, hten i notice its not.

im a bit concern if my GPU is dieng or over heating?

i got CPUID HWMonitor and it says my GPU temp is about 48*C 49*C at max.

this is the first time i got the app to look at my temps. but is that normal temps for a GPU that is not in use for gaming just for looking around on the net?

and i notice the fan on it is a bit noisy. not normal when not playing a game its not.

or can it be that today is freaking hot and i live out in the desert. ( Palmdale, CA)

my GPU is XFX HD 4850

Reboot your computer, load HWMonitor again, and then play Crysis for 10 minutes. Exit the game and tell us the Max temp for your GPU.

And when was the last time you cleaned out the dust in your computer and video card especially? That makes a huge difference in terms of temps.

You might have bad video memory...

I know I have something wrong with my GTX 280 since I got it in Aug of 2008. I just don't like waiting 30 days... So I put up with it's BS... Some times it can be good though.

you can still get the warranty if its XFX. I didn't have the reciept for mine, just take out the card and look on it, and it will have a tag with model # and serial #, then go register it, and when it asks when you purchased it, put a date within 30 days ago..Thats what I did, just got a replacement a couple days ago too. :D

One of my HD5870 had that problem awhile ago. I had to RMA it, but the problem was promptly gone afterwards.

RMA = Return merchandise authorization Simply put I returned it, and got a new one via warranty.

How did you clean your PC? It's possible that you damaged your computer during the cleaning process with ESD.
