I have had my GPU for over a year now, its a gtx590 and I have been using afterburner to keep an eye on it. I have never overcloced it or anything like that as I am scred of bricking it.

But recently I have seen that both processors have started running at 100%?

Temps stay mid 60s to mid 70s?

Any ideas why this might be happening?

I am playing: BF3, DOTA2 etc..

Thanks

Does it happen during gaming only? It means it is being fully utilised.

I don't know why you're worried...it's a good thing that your GPUs are being pushed.  :P  Lol.

Have you recently changed drivers? It just means your GPU/s are being used to their full potential.

You should be lucky, in BF3's MP the game's gpu usage is random for me, heck I've been seeing 20-50% usages at times.

Is this during game play or just when you're surfing the internet/on the desktop/doing whatever that doesn't involve 3D graphics?

If its going back to normal after for an example playing a demanding game then you have nothing to worry about ..you should be happy

Does for me as well, then again that game is more gpu extensive.

Depends.. some games run at 100% and the performance still isn't good. Some games run at 50% and you're getting 60fps without a hitch. Depends on the results.

So basically how cpu/gpu extensive a game is.

In BF3 both get to 100%.. I think it might have been the latest driver update? I never really noticed the numbers before.. but then I started to see the 100% and thought something was wrong. Ill keep an eye on performance and temps and also how long it takes to drop.
