well possibly, but the GTX I think is HD as well, but hopefully for christmas I get a new moniter, I wouldent mind an 19 inch PC monitor with an HDMI port to play my PS3 games in HD as well.cameron06

yes but check this reliable website out. All the 8 series are HDCP ready, where as the ATI cards all come with full HD support. I will get one for the future just so I go through no more hassle except buying Power DVD HD and HDCP monitor. Where as with 8 series I believe it has to be unlocked. See for your self.

I've been switching back and forth between ATI and nvidia for a while now, and I've had way fewer issues with my nvidia cards. just my 2 cents.

[QUOTE="cameron06"]

oh so 8800 640 MB GTS alright then, this ones a special edition its been twiked for overclock I mite be able to increase it too 700 MB, then the perfomace mite match the GTX in a way . justanother thing if I overclock it to 700 MB would I get a better perfomace then the ATI card?

thanks again hopelly im happy with the perfomace of the card when I get it

Jair_Mejia

i'm pretty damn sure you can't overclock the amount of ram a card has... :roll: usually clock speeds are overclocked.

yes, it is possible to overclock these cards.

If the ATI card truely surpassed the performance of the Nvidia card, came with free Half Life games, & cost the same as the Nvidia card, then I'd go with the ATI.

I would definately stick with NVIDIA. The 2900 is impressive in numbers, but it's benchmarks arn't that great. I have toyed around with alot of the DX 10 cards on the market and the one I decided to stick to is an overclocked 640MB8800 GTS. PlusATI's cards have some pretty insane power requirements.

now the 2900xt>>the 8800gts. Look at the new benchmarks at tweaktown. Also its closing in on the gtx, and the 2900xt will do better in dx10, since its built more for dx10 then G80

Specify your budget and I will tell you which of the two companies offer a better card. In the 500$+ Nvidia rule, the 400$ segment is highly debatable, the 300$ is where the 8800GTS 320MB wins, and underneath (spelling?) it's best to take ATI's 1950XT, 1950PRO. Under those, you're gonna not enjoy the game in fully quality (not you can't enjoy the same).

Never owned an ATI card but since most games are made with Nvidia in mind i decide to stick with them. ATI seems to be cheaper though.
