Everything seems OK to me. Although why are you getting two kinds of RAM? The case looks a little... meh to me (cheap/plasticy). I'd spend a little more and get something that is a nice solid case.

You have both http://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-DDR3-1333-SO-DIMM-2Rx8/dp/B00432SYU4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1300907897&sr=1-1 and http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-corsair-xms3-ddr3-pc3-10666-(1333)-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-9-9-9-24-150v I'd get the Corsair stuff, personally. For a HDD what size/type are you looking for? Myself and others have been recommending the Samsung F3 1TB drives for a bit now, they are great with cost/performance.

i like the pricing of 500 gb hdd's over there quite well priced.. for the price of 2 500 gb sata hdd's you can get a single wd caviar blue 1tb drive or seagate 1tb drive.. the spinpoint is a little more

he actually had one earlier in his build lsit off amazin it was a nice seagate HDD for like 23 bucks it was 500 gb

also whats wrong with the griffin? its a nice case and is argueabl;y the coolest running case money can buy for under 90 US dollars

Keep the 6870 and get a better PSU. If you get a solid 650-750 watt PSU, you can crossfire the ATI cards when you buy a second in the future. A 500 watt PSU would be strained by that.

850 watt is so much overkill. I seriously think people on this forum don't understand amps, volts or electricity in general

Here you go then. It is within your budget and the total price includes VAT and P&P.

the apollo is repectable case though i prefer the griffin jut because of that epic door fan the diameter fo some car rims :P (looks like a spinner imho)

also the dude just abvoe this post has a valid point but my problem with it is that its a trade-off hes got a better cpu at the cost of a worse gpu

given the choice id stick with what you have now.

he also only ahs 2gb ram.. whcih is a no no there isnt an excuse to have anything less than 4gb ram

both are about even the m95 is a bit roomier thats about it. the apollo also takes paint really well so a ddue with patience and and air brush kit can color it pretty nciely.. ive seenr ed, copper, white, black, camo etc. if this matter at all

id say flip a coin over it

I got them all from Scan.co.uk and yes, most of it is better, although that Samsung F3 HDD is pretty good and seeing as it can hold up to 1TB unlike the Western Digital one and is also cheaper, you would be better off going with that instead.

But I would recommend everything else in replacement for what you chose. The case of course is really up to you as it's what you're going to be looking at everyday so looks will also matter in that department. But in my eyes that Cooler Master case looks pretty slick.

[QUOTE="Janus67"]Everything seems OK to me. Although why are you getting two kinds of RAM? The case looks a little... meh to me (cheap/plasticy). I'd spend a little more and get something that is a nice solid case.

i agree about that, get another rocks case for ur rig

upgrade the cpu to sandy bridge i5 2500k, its more future proof and will last you well for 3-4 years while the ph II 955 is about to be outdated in 1-2 years

so should i get the sandy bridge intel or the AMD CPU?

the intel is quad core but the AMD is six core, i dont know what that means but it sounds like its a downgrade?

i dont mind paying extra for the better CPU if it is intel

Most games are only single threaded and at max 4 threaded so a 6 cores is pointless. The 2500k is much faster per cores than the amd 955. Neither will limit you fps during a gaming as much as your graphic card will. For pure gaming fps get the amd 955 and spend the money saved on more GPU. However a 2500k should last at least two years longer than the 955 before becoming obsolete.

or, If you are willing to wait until June approx, then Bulldozer will be out. If it matches the 2500k, then we will most likely see a price war. also, amd mobos tend to be cheaper, and the socket lasts for longer(eg, some AM3 mobos will be able to suppport the new bulldozer AM3+ socket)

this is also true. The mobos for the newest intel SB cpus are more expensive. If you are willing to wait for bulldozer then do so. But if not intel i5 2500k will be the best choice. In RTS games and some other games the intel cpus will be faster and you will see a difference. Also in applications, loading times, windows boot up, will be twice as fast with the intel chip

It should be good, cos of the new architecture, but it's NOT DEFINITE. If it is, you would be saving some money.
