or, If you are willing to wait until June approx, then Bulldozer will be out. If it matches the 2500k, then we will most likely see a price war. also, amd mobos tend to be cheaper, and the socket lasts for longer(eg, some AM3 mobos will be able to suppport the new bulldozer AM3+ socket)

I am so close to getting the i5-2500k, but then there's Bulldozer and I have to wait to see that for price and performance ratios along with benchmarks compared to the i5-2500k. I hope they have benchmarks before the release date.

I was also seriously considering getting a sandy bridge setup to replace my i5 750 but personally I don't want to support a company that does stuff that is so anti consumer, ie 3 different motherboards, locked cpu, DRM tech imbedded into cpu. My next upgrade will be bulldozer whenever it comes out, and I will continue buying AMD stuff until intel pulls its head out of its arse. /end rant

In that case you are better off saving up your money and not buying anything, until you have amassed it all.Within a year's time there will be new and better hardware at more competitive prices and the price of current hardware will have dropped. It is a waste of money buying something now and not using it for a whole year.
