The 8500GT won't really give good performance in games. An 8600GTS is the best mid-range at the moment.

Which is essentially what I said, although I would dispute the 8500GT as being "mid-range" I could buy one now for $89.99 sans shipping.

The mid-range is really the 8600 series.
