my spore worry

well i am kinda pumped about the game, its perty high on my list, but ayways, does anyone think its trying to much and just wont be too good in any catagory in particular? or some parts will just be a drag? i have the creature creator, i think its a amazing piece of work. do you guys think the game as a whole will be the same quality?

I think the creature editor is a good indicator of the quality. The creature editor is only 1 of, i think 18 editors. A very small, though important part of the game. If the editor is so polished i would imagine the rest of the game is as well.

Yes spore is extremely ambitous, but so has its development time! I wouldn't be too worried.

This is a valuable point you bring up and reflects my concerns:

I fear that the RTS component of the game could be quite generic. This is because Spore is essentially multiple games. The problem with this is that you have to try to innovate all segments otherwise the spread of your efforts will lessen in some areas.

And I can't really see Spore innovating the RTS genre, like the resource collecting, when they are focused on so many other areas like the Creature Creator.
