My steam account was banned for no reason

You got caught cheating... Valve and steam do alot of research to find people cheating or scamming before they ban them.

Lesson to be learned here.. dont cheat.

while this isnt the reason i no longer buy games off steam it is a good reason as having to buy all ur games over again is expensive

while some people call it the fututre and it may very well be but as long as retial is still around i will continue to buy from there and i dont see it going away anytime soon;)

If you dont cheat or scam people your account will be safe.

Dont let anyone else to use your steam and be responsible and your perfectly fine. Steam is awesome imo.

What I find ridiculous about vac and valve is that they ban your whole damn account rather than just the game you cheated in. Okay so you cheated in CS:S for example, so they'll ban your whole account.. But.. I bought Mass Effect on Steam.. Those two games are completely un-related and I couldn't even cheat in Mass Effect if I wanted to because it's a single player game but no.. they're taking away mass effect and any other games I have on my Steam because I cheated in Counter Strike.

Anyone who cheats in an online game or hacks accounts I say good riddance and applaud steam for making the community a better place.

If someone cheats or uses hacks in counterstrike, what woudl stop them from using hacks in TF2, Left4Dead2 or Killing Floor?

IMO Steams stance on this is great, it will make hackers, cheaters and scammers think twice about doing bad things.

that's really pretty harsh, i think they should do something like 10 day or month ban as a first warning or something
