If it's only one thing, then it's when developers fail to deliver a ported console game that feels like a PC game. I mean stuff like huge letters and prompts, games that show you controller prompts instead of keys (Bionic Commando comes to mind), games that have no real graphics options, bad controls... What's more is that games seem to have been dumbed down. You barely ever get a game where you can go prone or lean around corner, for example. Regenerating health. Badly implemented checkpoint systems.

I feel like Black Ops 2 is actually a great example of both the good and bad of that. It was the first COD game I'd played in many years, and I was very pleasently surprised to find a "lean" option, and used the sh!t out of it, all the time, in the campaign. But, it also had one of the worst checkpoint systems I've ever seen. Absolutely no real save game. Dozens of checkpoints per mission, but only like 2 that would actually save after the game was exited. And you'd have to rewatch the mission's opening cutscene when reloading, even if you were at the halfway checkpoint in the mission (sometimes, at least. It also bugged the sh!t out of me how the cutscenes were sometimes skippable, and sometimes not. I couldn't find any pattern. They just wouldn't let you skip them sometimes, for no reason).Â
