I need help in looking for some computer things. these are the things I will be purchasing with the 1600$ i have available.

300$ x58 sli 1366 atx motherboard- evga - I can go cheaper just point out a good motherboard.

95$ patriot ram ddr3 4gb 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 - I know , but its cheap. - you can still help find better ram out there for the same price.

160$ evga 250 gts 1024mb - this card will do.

150$ gameXtream 700watt psu- OCZ 12 60amps 4 12v rails each 15amps - have the same psu for my computer but mine has 64amps.

280$ intel core i7 920 2.66GHz

All I need is a good inexpensive hard drive,cd/dvd drive, a case, and a good cooling method for cheap(processor).

Thanks in advance.

Budget? CM HAF 932 is always a good choice. More expensive ones are CM ATCS 840, Corsair 800D, SS TJ-07

CM HAF 932 Case

WD Caviar Blue 640GB HDD

HP Black 24x DVD Drive

Zalman 9900LED w/ AC Silver 5 Compound

I would usually recommend a TRUE or a Megahalem, but neither are found on newegg, unfortunately. I would recommend one of those any day, though, if you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

EVGA has some great boards for nearly $100 less than that one, and you're not really losing out on any features.

4GB of RAM in a tri-channel controller strikes me as rather odd. You can pick up a tri-channel kit for a bit more, and I would recommend you do so.

A GTS 250 at that price will get smoked by an HD4870 1GB or GTX 260 Core 216.

OCZ's GameXStream series is pretty damn mediocre, and at that price it's complete garbage. Pick up a Corsair instead. Or even one of Antec's Truepower New units. Something in the 650w-750w range should do.

The Core i7 920 is a good pick.

For the hard drive, I rather like Seagate's 7100.12 series drives. A 1TB unit shouldn't be much more than $90.

Inexpensive optical drive? Doesn't honestly matter much as long as you get a SATA interface drive. I've had good luck with LG and Samsung drives for the most part, but it really won't affect anything. Shouldn't run you more than $30.

A good case kind of depends on the aesthetic appeal of the user in question. I usually recommend Lian-Li or LANCool in a pinch, figure around $100 here.

For CPU cooling, the Scythe Mugen 2 is probably the best cheap cooler for LGA 1366 on the market. Indeed, it's probably one of the better ones overall as well.

All that stuff should probably run you around $1300 tops. Throw in $100 for a copy of Windows, and you're set. Or you could look into an aftermarket sound card, better mouse, or things of that nature.

My vote, case-wise, is the ABS Tagan Black Pearl, though I would definitely advise you to get longer SATA/PATA cables and two extra 120mm fans for the top vents. (If you really want the Cooler Master HAF 932, though, that's fine too.) As for monitors...well, I don't know what to suggest. I only look at high-end ones like the discontinued Gateway XHD3000 and the Dell 3008WFP, and such monitors usually cost as much as your entire PC budget alone.
