Is there a card that can run all the latest games on high settings between 90-150.
please help and thanks best gaming community right here
This topic is locked from further discussion.
if u want to run crysis on high settings there is no card in ur budget.
but in ur budget 5750 is the best, it will max out most of the games.
if u can stretch ur budget a little more i will suggest u 5770.
If you live in the US, you can get a GTS 250 for something like 140$. its a wonderful card, i max almost all games with 1920x1080. ATI 4850 is in the same price range too i think, and it delivers great performance too.GazaAliBuying a GTS 250 for 140$ when you can get a 5770 for 150$ is a bad move.

How come they are so close in price? i didnt know really, if thats true.
lol if u get direct X 11 compatibility in same price tag with less heat and power consumption so why not go with it.

Well you can get a GTS 250 for $100-130 now. 5770

Why is hardware in US so cheap...? *jealous*Ok it's either the GTS 250or the 5770. There's a max fps difference between the two of 5-10Fps. But if you aren't gaming at high res I'd say go with the GTS 250 as you'd also get physx. But if you want the best performance it's going to be the 5770 if you care about the extra 10Fps and the $$ difference.
u may be able to find an ati 4890 on ebay for that price thats slightly better than the 5770 i think unless u want DX11.
I was all set to get the 5770 because of the directx11 and the good reviews, why would that bestupid thing to do?
Newegg has the 5770 for below $150 for many manufactures.
In terms of performance.
GTS 250 < 4850 ~= GTX 260 < 4870 ~= 5770
The clear winning here is the 5770

Stupidguy24
It's not necessarily a stupid thing to do. The 5770 is a very good card for its respective price. However, a 4890 is pretty much equivalent to the 5830 in terms of performance, so being able to find that for the same price as the 5770 would be a better deal.
I would suggest something like this...

5770 ftw
Buying the 5770 for Direct X 11 games would be the dumbest move ever...the 5770 is horrible in direct x 11...havent you guys seen any bench's?
If you want a direct x 11 card that you wont have to replace it after 4-5 months go with the 5970 or gtx 480...but since those are out of ur budget...buy a direct x 9/10 card
You want to buy a 5770 and play ur games at 10-20 fps when u enable tesselation?

Just because the card does dx11, it doesnt mean it has to, its perfectly capable of playing dx9 and dx10 games, quite well if i might add. A 5770 does have dx11, but i dont recommend playing games in dx11, but that doesnt mean he cant play the sames games using dx9 or dx10 with the 5770. The reason i recommended it is because it is in his budget, and performs great for the price...
I am guessing he would have to update his PSU and probably case for a 5970, or a 480... And this card is better than the dx9/10 cards that are present at the same price point.

For this price range, getting a DX11 card is a really stupid thing to do.GazaAliI honestly just bought it because it was better than my choppy 9800gt
And i don't care about dx11 just dx10, because i don't see any difference
5970? 480? I am seriously laughing at this.. He has a tight budget if you didn't read that. I would buy a 5770 and i have, because at least it wiped out the 9800gt which i had earlier.Buying the 5770 for Direct X 11 games would be the dumbest move ever...the 5770 is horrible in direct x 11...havent you guys seen any bench's?

Why on earth would he pay $140 for a gts 250 when he can get a 5770 for the same price and its significantly superior, DX 11 or not.
That's the problem. There ISN'T a more powerful video card in its price range. The card is comparable to the 4870 (same if not more expensive than the 5770) and the GTX 260 (cheapest one I found was 199.99).
I know the 5770 is better. but since its DX11 incapable, why paying more? why not getting a more powerful DX10 card or save up for a decent DX11 card?GazaAliDX11 incapable, please show me a incapable benchmark in DX11 by a 5770... link me a couple if you don't mind.

The 5770, can handle that size for at least two years from now. Hell 8800GT's are still performing well at those resolutions. But the time he "saves up" for a 5870 or 480 there will be a new kid on the block, and you'll tell him those are dumb buys.

Is a 5770 much better than a 4770? I got my XFX 4770 512MB GDDR5 card around 6-8 months ago for around $108. Just wondering if there is a big jump going from it to the 5770?

ok, good point. I always try and root for the mid-range, because I feel people completely underestimate it.
As for the 5770 now. You can't really get anything better for the price, and if I'm right about his monitor he will give the 5770 a hell of a run for the money. I really doubt it will disappoint even two years from now, see as how things have been with this console generation being dragged out for eternity.
If he has a monster screen or a nice big TV he plays on, then go ahead and save for a better card, but if hes got a 19" to 22" monitor then there is no point. Unless you really have to have 100+ FPS and max AA.
Based on what? a demo? Human-after-all
Based on the Unigine benchmark, the only benchmark out right now that fully uses tesselation. Although the methods used to create it is up in the air, hence the whole shenanigans about if nVidia's card is truly better at it than ATI cards.

That would be what I meant. There is metro 2033 but I have seen screens of DX11 tessellation vs DX9 and DX9 looks better which lead me to believe the game probably just tossed it in as fluff.http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/690645-metro-2033-dx9-vs-dx11-without.html
Picture of guys beard on 3rd page, looks horrible with tessellation enabled. But on page 5 there are some pics of lighting that are nice in DX11 tessellation.

thats not true at all the 9800GT (the one you have in your sig) can run crysis on all high settings for anywhere from 100-140if u want to run crysis on high settings there is no card in ur budget.

$85-110 GTS 250 / $110-150 ATI 5750 or 5770 (American currency).. Cards to absolutely stay away from are ATI 5600's and nvidia GT/G series cards.
Desired resolutions in my opinion for mid class cards is 1440x900 or less (19in monitor or so). 1650x1050 in my opinion is the absolute max and most likely would result in gpu not being able to handle the load depending on game. Thats just my preference. Something to also consider.
