I'm about to order this case. However, I want to be sure that I'll be able to hide all of my cables in it before I order it. I'm worried because I've got a non-modular PSU. What are your thoughts?

UPDATE:

I've already ordered the DF-35. Based on reviews I've read and on some videos I've seen, I'm convinced that I get some decent cable management with this case.

UPDATE 2:

My Antec DF-35 has finally arrived. I've just finished moving all of my components from my HAF 932 to my DF-35. This case is really tight fit. I mean, damn. It's tighter than I thought it would be, but in the end, everything managed to fit. I'll be keeping my HAF just in case I need the extra space. Here are some pictures:

I don't like what I read. It makes me consider getting the full sized DF-85 version. However, I don't want a full sized tower; they're large size is unsightly. I want a slim and small case. Damn. I'm conflicted.

Coolermaster Storm Scout and Storm Sniper both have excellent cable managment... Not the smallest of mid cases though... I fear the smaller and sleeker you go, the less room you'll have for decent cable managment...

The Sniper is hideous. It won't be ordered. However, the Scout looks promising.

Ha! I just read in the other thread why you want to get rid of the HAF you have. You remember me giving you a hard time when you were brand new here and told us you got the HAF 032 AMD edition? I told you it looks like a flipping firetruck :P. We argued over and over about that damn case, you thought it looked awesome. Good times ;)

I no longer like the way it looks. I've grown tired of the fire-truck red. I've got the AMD version.

It's not just the color. It's the size. It's huge. I want a smaller case.

I just realized that I can't get the case in the OP because it's too narrow for my heatsink. My HAF 932 is 9.60" wide and there's only about an inch between the side panel and top of the heatsink. The case in the OP is only 7.80" wide. So, there's no way the heatsink would fit. Damn. It looks like I have to go full sized.

Choosing a case is more difficult than I thought. I was watching this videoand the person in the video managed to fit a Prolimatech Megahalems into the DF-35. The Megahalems is only 1.2mm shorter than my Thor's Hammer. So, now I think it could fit. What do you think?

I just want to get this over with, already. I'm going to order the DF-35. If my Thor's Hammer doesn't fit, I'll temporally use the stock cooler and order the Corsair H50. I'm done with this. I'm placing the order, now.

Yep. And he's even got a cooler in the side-panel of which aprox a third to half is at the same height as the CP cooler. Together with the space you have behind the hard drive bay at the righthand side, you could fit most of your cables there. His cable management seems decent for such a 'small' case...

I have the storm scout case and it fits my Prolimatech Megahalems and it also has decent cable management(though I wouldn't put a 5970 in it), I could hide all my cables from my tx750, altough I am plannig on getting a modular PSU and the storm sniper, if I were in your shoes I would just swap the 932AMD for 932 black, surely you can find someone t exchange it with. :)

It's too late. I've already ordered the Antec Dark Fleet DF-35. I can't wait until it arrives. On another note, I just came back from Walmart a few minutes ago. I had originally planned on getting God of War 3, but it costs $60.00. I thought that it would have been cheaper by now. I wasn't willing to pay that much for a game I'd beat in a few hours and never play again. So, I bought a webcam instead. It's an HP webcam with 5 mega-pixels. I'm very impressed with it. The video and audio quality is really really good. It only costs $40.00. It was a good buy.

This case is tight. There's not much I can do with the cables. This case needs a modular PSU for optimal cable management. Anyhow, I think it was worth the money. It's 20 pounds lighter (half as heavy) and is easy for me to carry from one place to the other.

If you move your PC from place to place I can understand the upgrade. I would look into a modular PSU though.

This case looks so much more sleek than the HAF. It's stylish. I like it.

My i7-920 runs at the same temperatures when idle, which is 40C to 42C. My HD 5870 runs 7C higher than it did in the HAF, when idle. In the HAF it would run at 39C when idle; in this case it's at 46C. I'm assuming that it's due to the wires/ cables that are surrounding it; it's a tight fit (but, none of the intake or exhaust vents are blocked). I don't know the temperatures for either the CPU or the video card when they're under load; I haven't run any stressful applications yet. I think that if I install a small fan on the side panel, which is right next to the card, the temperatures might decrease. I'm going to do that. I'll take one of the small fans from my HAF.

It seems that my HD 5870 has automatically increased its fan speed to 30 percent to compensate for the increase in temperature. It's now back down to 37C.

Just gonna say it blue.... You went from a case that you didn't like color of to a case thats more cramp, doesn't allow good cable management, and for now is making your video card run hotter.. Something is just not right here bro.

The card has automatically adjusted its fan speed to lower its temperatures. It runs a mere 9 percent faster and is just as cool as it was in the HAF 932. The HAF 932 was too big. I didn't like having a huge case like that. Its size was a burden. Overall, I like this new case. It's slim, lighter, and has a sleek appearance. Cable management isn't that big of a deal. The components are still working and everything fits in the case.

Waste of money imo. I mean you already had an excellent case, minus its looks. I do hope you work on those cables though.

millerlight89

This case is tight. There's not much I can do with the cables. This case needs a modular PSU for optimal cable management. Anyhow, I think it was worth the money. It's 20 pounds lighter (half as heavy) and is easy for me to carry from one place to the other.

If you move your PC from place to place I can understand the upgrade. I would look into a modular PSU though.

^i agree with this but for me to even attempt to do cable management on that case i would need to cut areas out to even begin running cables, but then again thats just me. :)

My friend, this case is so small that there aren't any places where you can cut out holes! Also, the space between the back of the case and the rear-panel is too small for cables to fit into.

There's something that I need help with. When I installed my Samsung Spinpoint into the DF-35, I used the wrong screws. Now, the screws won't come out. They're loose, meaning that they rotate when I try to unscrew them, but they never come out. It isn't a problem now, but if I ever want to remove the HDD from the case, or move it to another position, I won't be able to take it out. What can I do?

Instead of unscrewing them with a screwdriver, use pliers to unscrew the screws.

Works, I've done what you did.

You mean use the pliers to PULL the screws out?

You mean use the pliers to PULL the screws out?

I believe I said use the pliers to unscrew the screws, not pull. You just clamp onto them and exert decent force backwards while you unscrew them.

I know that you said unscrew. However, I didn't see your point since that's what I'd be doing with an ordinary screw driver, which doesn't do the trick. Hence, I concluded that you must have something else in mind aside from merely unscrewing. This is why I asked if you meant pull, since pulling is something that can be done with a plier, but not with a screw driver. Also, exerting a decent force backwards is pulling, so in a sense, you did suggest that I pull. It was merely a misunderstanding.

Don't be sassy. I said use the pliers to unscrew, the screwdriver isn't going to work because:
A) you don't have enough backwards force

B) You have no clue what you are doing.

If you are going to be so helpless and screw up your machine constantly, at least be courteous and not a child when someone gives you legitmate advice.

Just buy a new case and harddrive. make sure you buy 2 of each because you'll mess those up too.

Just buy a new case and harddrive. make sure you buy 2 of each because you'll mess those up too.

A) I wasn't being sassy. I was merely clarifying my misunderstanding.

B) You never mentioned anything about using a backward force with the pliers when you INITIALLY recommended that I use a pair. You merely said that I should use them to UNSCREW. Your initial statement was ambiguous. You recommended a different tool, but told me to do the same thing that I was doing with the tool I've already tried to use. Hence, my subsequent question in which I asked about pulling.

C) Applying a backward force is pulling.

D) Just because I made one mistake by using the wrong screws, doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. The screws worked for my other HDD and my optical disc drives, so I assumed it would work for this one. It was an honest mistake that anyone could make.

E) With a screw driver, it's not a matter of not having enough backwards force; it's a matter of having NO backwards force.

F) There's no need to be rude. Calm down.

G) Thank you.
