Need for Speed SHIFT Question

Hey,

I have been playing this game and.....its great. Anyway, I do not have use of the mouse in game for options and menus, just arrows on the keyboard and enter, etc. Is this how it is supposed to be?

That makes sense, it could be an option in the setting or on my PC also.
