Need help finding name of old PC game

I remember when I was little kid, I found a preview for a PC game that was kinda cartoony and set in a really weird enviorment (like post-radioactive attack or something) Everywhere you looked, you would find mutant evil looking frogs and at some point it flashed to a back alley scene where two of these little animals came out and started fighting. It was a purple rat and spotted dog and they turned into more vicious forms with teeth snarling and they almost looked like mechanical beasts.

Anyone know ANYTHING about this mystery game? Whether it be a guess to a title, released date, or anything would be appreciated.

Was it an adventure game like Braindead 13 or more of an action shooting game?

Was it strictly a 2D fighter? Or did it have some sort of adventure mode? Any other info would be helpful.

ok heres everythihng else i can think of

you start every battle as the rat or the dog and you have to transform before you can fight

it had stages were you would fight other robotic monsters

the final stage was in a labratory and it was another fight

inbetween each fight you got taken through th sewer to find your next fight and you had the option to go left/right excetra and the final battle stage was locked till you beat the rest.

As for release date, all i can remember was that i played this the same time as theme park tycoon.

Yeah that is the only thing I can think of that sounds remotely like this game.

If you could imagine teo little animals like transforming into machines and fighting....thats what i've been trying to find. I know its out there somewhere.

Never played the game though, just read about it, so I'm not entirely sure it fits the description.

Edit - According to Wikipedia, Brutal: Paws of Fury was also on DOS and Amiga.
