Im getting ready to buy a new TV and surround sound system. I think I got the TV down. Im going with either a plasma or LCD 1080p. I want to get a new surround sound to go wih it. Does the surround sound system need to have HDMI inputs in order to work with my game systems? I have all 3 systems and would like to hook them up to a surround sound system. Well, thanks for any advice.

What is your budget and how far will you be sitting, and what is the room size. Also i would try on AVSforum.com or Blu-ray.com because those people know a lot. You want the sound receiver to be 7.1 with like 3 or 4 (or more if you plan on hooking up a pc, or HD cable, satellite) hdmi inputs, 1080p up-conversion (1080i or 720p if you don't want to spend a lot of money), i have heard that plasma is better form movies (better colors and motion) but for some reason (i don't know why) LCDs are better for gaming (i have an LCD because i like at 8100ft and plasmas don't work) also you will want to find a tv viewing chart and get the biggest you that is recommenced (trust me). The last things are that i would buy from amazon because of cheap prices and free delivery and instillation, and get cables from monoprice.com because they are cheap and very good (you don't pay for the name/fancy packiging).
