Hey everyone, I'm putting a budget build for school. Doing just mid range gaming (company of heroes, call of jaurez, cs:s) and some home music recording. I'd like to stay between $600 and $700, I don't need a monitor or an OS. I plan on gaming at 1680x1050 This is what I have so far. Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156063 Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128395 CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103681 HD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145233 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148262 Power Suppy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152028 Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102822 KB and M : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126174 Speakers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836157007 CD/DVD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836157007 Sorry I don't know how to hyperlink! I know DX11 is coming up soon so I may just get everything then wait a bit for DX11 to drop before I grab a video card, I can off till then to get a better deal. Also, that CD/DVD drive can burn Dual Layer discs right? Does everything look good? Any suggestions?

Look good man. so ur gonna be getting a dx11 card or wait till other card price drop, cause the 4830 sucks. if ur not gonna wait, get a gts 250 or a 4870. and change ur power supply to a corsair one or an antec one

Go for the x2 550, not the 250. the 550 can unlock into a quad core!

Excellent! only problem though is that the RAM you listed isn't compatible with that motherboard. Here go with this RAM which is compatible http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145241. Also go with the 4850 for about 10 dollars more and it's much faster than the 4830 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102824. Also the CD/DVD link didn't work so go with this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827249054

Yeah I'm willing to order all the parts and put it together then just wait till DX11 comes out and pushes down the price of the current cards if it makes a huge difference, will it? Im deffilently gonna go with the 4850 now though over that 4830.

What I did with my friends build 4 months ago was...

I kept his current hard drive, cd-drive, power supply and case and I just upgraded his motherboard, ram, gpu and cpu.

x2 550 = $100
ASUS or gigabyte mobo= under $100
2x1Gb ram = $40
ati 4850 = $120

he ran crysis @ high at a decent res w/ AA and it was perfect. I even played it on the pc I built for him and it was smooth as butter.

I'd wait a litlle because the 5850 which comes out the end of this month is supposed to be better then the gtx 285 and it's priced at 200$. So..I'd wait.
