I installed WoW no problem but than through circumstances I had to re install it. When I tried to re- install I got to disc 5 and had  problems. When I put the disc into the drive I got disc crush, a humming noise, followed by a thrashing sound. The disc crush damages cd's really bad, hence the name.

Im just wondering why it didn't happen the first time I installed the game. Its not the drive because it happened on another my other drive as well.

The other problem is the drive itself, it seems slow to recognise cd's. Plus it locks up more often than I would like.

The drive is brand new and is suppose to good. Which makes me think it could be a problem with my computer. Your thoughts?

My thoughts is that your brand new drive is not good. The motor in the drive must be overpowered or badly calibrated and spinned your CD to the heavens.

For certain its the drive. Take it back with the crushed disc im sure they will replace it. If your desprate you could try reflashing the firmware, it could be cause by buggy or corrupted firmware, but id just take it back.
