Need help with my new PCI video card.

I recently bought a EVGA PCI Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT 1GB DDR2 to upgrade from my last PCI video card which was an EVGA Nvidia GeForce 6200 DDR2 256MB. I thought I was finally going to run games like Battlefield 2 on the high video settings. However, there is little improvement in performance and it still recommends the default settings on low. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need more RAM? Do I need to reinstall the game. Your help would be appreciated. My computer specs:

Dell Dimension 2400

Windows XP

Intel(R) Celeron(R)

CPU 2.40 GHz 2.39 GHz,

1GB of RAM

The stock video card was weak so thank goodness for the PCI slots.

Is there a PCI video card that you would recommend? Or should I try to get more RAM first?

you need a new cpu before spending more on the gpu. since you said you got no increase from the new card that means you are cpu limited. more ram could help but a doubt it will make much difference with that cpu.
