Ok so i'm thinking of getting a new Laptop but since i'm not a tech freak need help. I have no interest in a gaming laptop i'm just looking for one to use the internet, watch online videos in SD and HD, do college works in word and store pictures and wallpaper. I was looking at one at my local Officemax but it have a Intel Celeron processor of 2.0 Ghz.

After doing some research i have found that some site tells this processor is outdated plus my old Desk Top had a Celeron and everytime i tried to watch a Gametrailers.com HD video that aren't even 720p it looked like in slow motion and the Screen was 60 Hz. My brothers PC have a Anthlon 64 x 2 and doesn't do this.

1. Is this cause by the Celeron being outdated?

2. If i get a new Laptop with Celeron will i have trouble with those kind of videos?

3. Should i at least get one with a Pentium dual core processor?

4. Will a max support of 4GB of DDR2 RAM be sufficient for me?

No to Celeron its garbage, and not worth a single cent. Core 2 Duo will be more then enough for what you do.

Aight....for what your going to be using the laptop for (websurfing, office work, etc. etc.), the price you should end up paying should be no more than $750. A laptop at this price should serve your needs very well. If I were you, I would begin my search at Newegg.com and go from there. Newegg, for the most part, does not sell junk (i emphasize "for the most part"). The Newegg website is very easy to use and has many "filters" that you can use to narrow down your search. The "customer reviews" found on Newegg can be very helpfull as well. For what you'll be using this laptop for, I would recommend multiple processor cores and RAM OVER the GPU (graphics) and the overall speed of the processor. Also, try to get one with Windows 7.

As was mentioned you don't need a very high end laptop for what you're interested in. Stay well under $1000. Look for either a Core 2 Duo or Turion X2 CPU. Also stay away from the netbooks that are currently the rage. Those might not even be as powerful as a Celeron. Since you aren't gaming, you can go with an integrated graphics chip, which is the lowest power available (also the cheapest). You might want to look at the stuff at Best Buy and Walmart. They've got some pretty decent prices.

Not a Turion. Not much battery life out of it. I'm running one now and it gives me at most 2-2.5 hours on the saver mode.

Generally what you see is what you get (and are stuck with) for a laptop. They are basically not designed for upgrading anything other than RAM. Here's a laptop that'll give you decent performance and even allow you to do some gaming - if you see fit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115675 Here's a similar laptop to the one listed above, but it's not really designed for gaming: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220606

Get a computer with a Pentium Dual core or equivalent (AMD ATHLON X2) etc, at least 2gbs RAM and a 250gb Hard Drive. That should be more than enough for Internet and Online video.

That's a name that I haven't heard in a while. I think that the Sempron is in the same weight class as the Celeron. I don't think that will handle HD decoding very well.

Right then laptop for work and that's it? No games just work and then some music and movie watching and you want to keep it under $1,000. Look for a laptop with at least 2 gb of RAM. Don't worry so much about hard drive space you can fix that with an external hard drive. The processor you are looking for is either a core 2 duo or turian x2. Like what has been said before video cards don't matter you can get an integrated one and you should be ok.
