I just want something nice that will last for awhile. I've been using my mouse pad for almost a decade and my Logitech G500 for ~5 years. For the mouse I'd prefer something that doesn't have a ton of buttons or sharp edges (due to aesthetic preferences). But something game oriented, responsive, and comfortable for a claw-grip is what I'm looking for. The Razer Deathadder is along the lines of what I'm looking for, but I've heard a lot of complaints about that particular mouse so I hoping for maybe something similar but better. Would prefer wired but I'm open to wireless.

As for the mousepad, my current one (func surface 1030) feels like a slightly rough plasticy material and was maybe thinking something softer. I never tried those silk-cloth type surfaces and thought maybe that was worth a shot but there are so many options, it's hard to pinpoint anything that stands out. I don't care for one that's really really big but I wouldn't be opposed to it.. Don't want it to be too small either :p

Thanks :)

Artisan Hayate Soft Mousepad.

Seems to get a lot of praise for FPS games. Balance between speed and control.

I really like how that looks. Any mouse ideas?

For the mouse I'd prefer something that doesn't have a ton of buttons or sharp edges (due to aesthetic preferences - Steelseries Kana V2, Roccat Kone, Razer Orochi - also fits Claw grip

Hm...these look alright but I'm still having a hard time deciding on one.

Razer mamba + firefly mousepad ~$200

Jokes aside. I know I already mentioned my new slew of razer junk that came in through the mail already.

Well heres a size comparison of mamba wired and g9. 8 years apart in age and usage I believe. Feels palmy and very light if your into that.

I used a Razer Lachesis for the longest time, upgraded to a Razer Naga a couple years ago and have never had any problems.

Oh heck I'll ship you my mamba for cheap if you want. Turns out I like the deathadder shape better unless you already ordered.

Lachesis is one of my fave for its ergo. Too bad its d/c. I never need all the macros so I always avoided the nagas though.

Thanks for the offer but I already placed the order - will be here Friday :)

Also ordered a Turtle Beach Drift mouse pad to see which I like better.

Artisan mouse pads cant be beat IMO, lots of options to choose from, I have the HEIN and I love it.

Here is an extensive review of most of the Artisan pads that details the surface types and other differences.

Edit: See you already made your choice, hope you enjoy :)

I'm still open to suggestions. The Razer Mamba TE seems iffy based on my research so I'm not sure if i'll be keeping it, and I bought a really cheap mousepad so I'm still open to buying other mousepads.

I'm just not sure about those Artisan pads. The cost and shipping time on them is a stinger. I wish I could demo one of these before buying.

EDIT: Returned Mamba TE for Zowie EC2-A. This thing is 1000x better.
