Hey, I recently bought the game Empire: Total War, before I bought the game I checked with can you run it? to see if my comp could handle the game. The results were promising, saying that I could run it on the highest graphics and performance would be good. Got the game, installed it, put it on then turned up the settings to the maximum. When I tested it to see how it held up, the game ran alrightish, the graphics were good but performance was a little rusty, it didn't have a smooth feeling to it like other games, so I was wondering if any advice could be given about my specs, I want to know if I should upgrade something and perhaps the best thing to get. Specs: - AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz -2046MB RAM -NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT -Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 Any help would be appreciated, Thanks Also not sure if this was the right forum to ask and I know people have asked this question a million times but I thought I might as well ask it myself...

Upgrade everything, that system is outdated. Not even exaggerating either. For gaming you'll need a quad core CPU, at least 4 GB RAM if not more, and at least a 6770

Either turn down the settings or upgrade your rig.

Uh.. No.. I was able to play it with good performance on high settings with a E4300 1.8ghz core 2 duo easily.. He just needs 2gb more ram and a modest upgrade for video card.. Something as cheap as a 4850 can easily run the game..

we have a sticky for thses and your system can play it on medium.. not maximum. your cpu clock speed is very low and your gpu could be better. try napoleon total war one day THAT you could play on high
