  • Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz

  • MSI Motherboard X58M
  • Kingston 1333 DDR3 3GB (3X1G)Memory
  • Sapphire Radeon 5670

  • Onboard Audio
  • Seagate 500GB SATA HDD
  • LG GH24LS50 SATA 24X DVD-RW DRIVE, LIGHTSCRIBE, BLACK, INTERNAL, Retail

First off you want to get the 2nd gen intel CPU such as the i5 2500, its cheaper and more powerful. This means you'll also need to get a socket 1155 mother board, I'd recomend any of the Asus P8P67 line. Second off you should get at least 4GB of ram, I'm not sure if streaming video requires more but I know games will be fine with 4gb. Thridly if you want to play new games at max settings you'll need a better video card, it depends on what resolution your playing at but a GTX 460 is a great card for the money. I'd also suggest getting a CPU cooler, the default CPU cooler on the 2nd gen intel CPUs is bad.

dont get 2000mhz ram, your board doesnt support it, stick with 1600 sticks. also get a i5 2500K verison if you want to overclock (assuming thats why you're buying a aftermarket cooler) also get a hyper 212+ instead of that thermaltake one.

I mean its not manditory to get a new cooler, but if you do heavy gaming or any overclocking I'd recomend it because it can get hot and lower the lifespan of the CPU. @Tx-1000 Yeah thats better, but like Azurite said you need to get a different cooler, the one he suggested is good and relatively cheap.

17838 Corsair Power Supply CMPSU-GS600 $96.99

15425 ANTEC SIX HUNDRED GAMING ATX CASE $81.99

19505 XFX HD 6950 Video Card $261.99

14991 Asus 24X DVD-RW, BLACK SATA S/W INCLUDED, Retail $21.99

15080 Western Digital BLACK 1TB 3.5 7200 64MB SATA III Dual PROCESSOR $84.99

15147 Kingston 2X4GB DDR3 1333 CL9 $91.99 19087 Asus P8P67 LE Motherboard $139.99

15562 Cooler Master HYPER 212 PLUS (LGA1156/1136/775/AM3) $29.99

18525 Intel Core i5-2500 3.3GHz CPU $210.99

This is from the website you where using. It comes out to about $1020 CAD+ shipping. I know its a little over what you wanted, but it wold be able to max out any game on the market now as long as you don't play at super high resolutions. I'm also not familiar with Canadian stores so you may be able to find some deals on the parts.

Thanks. This might be a dumb question That build there does it have a PCIE slot because the Blackmagic Intensity Pro requires a PCIE slot.

this is a good deal for a computerhttp://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=281588&CatId=333

5850 video cardhttp://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=14080BD8808&vpn=11162-15-20G&manufacture=SAPPHIRE

add a monitor and OS and the total comes to about $950. You don't need a $300 video card, you'll be perfectly fine with the 5850

Yes it has PCIe slots. Here are the expansion slot specs for that mobo: 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (blue, single at x16 mode) 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (black, at x4 mode, compatible with PCI Express x1 and x4 devices) 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 3 x PCI As for the build you listed I wouldn't recomend getting the first gen i7 intel CPU's. That one is about $100 more expensive than the i5 2500 and gives the same if not less perfomance. Your best off with getting a i5 2500 or a i7 2600.
