Need some help on a build.

So here is what i want to for. For streaming on JTV going to get the black magic intensity pro. Want to stream my ps3 and xbox 360 games, (the best i can what the best quailty as i can get it on JTV, I have a good upload.) along with some pc games. I want to play my pc games at the highest settings possible.

Never built a pc befor.

This is what i have built, will this do the job prefectly

• Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz
• Intel/AMD default fan & heat sink
• MSI Motherboard X58M
• Kingston 1333 DDR3 3GB (3X1G)Memory

I want no lag with streaming.

First off you want to get the 2nd gen intel CPU such as the i5 2500, its cheaper and more powerful. This means you'll also need to get a socket 1155 mother board, I'd recomend any of the Asus P8P67 line. Second off you should get at least 4GB of ram, I'm not sure if streaming video requires more but I know games will be fine with 4gb. Thridly if you want to play new games at max settings you'll need a better video card, it depends on what resolution your playing at but a GTX 460 is a great card for the money. I'd also suggest getting a CPU cooler, the default CPU cooler on the 2nd gen intel CPUs is bad.Croag821

dont get 2000mhz ram, your board doesnt support it, stick with 1600 sticks. also get a i5 2500K verison if you want to overclock (assuming thats why you're buying a aftermarket cooler) also get a hyper 212+ instead of that thermaltake one.

how bad are the 2nd gen intel coolers. I thought i would save some money and I just use whatever came with cpu. Is it important to get a new one?metal_zombie

I know its a little over what you wanted, but it wold be able to max out any game on the market now as long as you don't play at super high resolutions. I'm also not familiar with Canadian stores so you may be able to find some deals on the parts.

add a monitor and OS and the total comes to about $950. You don't need a $300 video card, you'll be perfectly fine with the 5850

Blazn i want a good GFX card.

One other thing Might be a dumb question.That build here does it have a PCIE slot because the Blackmagic Intensity Pro requires a PCIE slot.
