If your videocard goes any higher, yes at least a 450 Watt power supply will be needed. another gig of DDR1 ram should not cost you that much. ROughly 15$ I think. You will stay in budget if you shop around (especially at discount stores, Depots, used part sales, ebay etc)

You may be able to put an hd4670 on that PSU, it would probably be overkill for that CPU but you should be able to play at least some newer games, i'd also add another gig of RAM... You could also upgrade to like a 3.4ghz p4, but im not sure that would do much.

With those specs you're better off saving money for a new pc. Like other have said you will just be prolonging the inevitable, and in the process wasting money.

You cannot buy any computer under $600 for gaming, unless you expect to play bare minimums. Work for a month or less and you should get at least $1000 from that, then you will have a good computer and not a 6 year old junk like I used to. You could get the 4670 like others have said, and 1 more gig of ram but your CPU is holding everything back

You can build a computer for under $600 if your building it yourself, especially if you already have a copy of windows... but no budget is mentioned so im not sure where you got $600 anyway, you need to give a $$ limit if you want some recommendations, and also if your capable/willing to build your own system.

I should mention that for roughly 300-400$ you can purchase a pre-built computer from a store and it will probably be better than what you have now. I've seen HP computers with 3 GB of RAM, 2.8 dualcore GHz processor and 512 MB of Video RAM for $400.

going by what hp says it does have a pcie slot so you could get a decent gpu. the radeon 4650 is one of the best lowend gaming cards and is pleanty for what you cpu could manage. in theory your mob should be able to support the pentium dual core cpus as they are 800mhz fsb such as the e2160 and they would get a big performance boost. but for a cheap upgrade get a gefore 8600gt or radeon 4650 and another gig of ram and you should be able to run most new games ok
