Ā
once you are able to play mods, you will most likely never go back to Console gaming.
Ā
IMO, mods are the #1 appeal of PC gaming.

Yep, thats basically the only difference but its a really nice difference.
Ā
and PC games tend to have much larger online games, like BF2 with 64 players, and joint ops with 150.Ā

Never really cared for mods. I just like PC gaming is all. Ā
On the PC, you get most of the games that all the different consoles get, only with better online and better graphics.
You also have extras: MMOs, Strategy, games that only come out on PC...
And anyway, you can always find a way to play those rare games that only come out on console on ur PC (no detail)
PC gaming is just all the console gaming put together... only better
Mouse and keyboard offers ten times quicker and more precise control..
Some PS2 to PC conversions piss me off because they offer no mouse support, such as MGS2 and Resident evil 4.
Autoaiming in Halo 2 eh ? LOL
And lets not forget the loading time on PS2, I wonder if they managed to triple it on PS3 ?
I guess if I had to put one up for consoles IĀ“d have to go with the social aspect (and no online gaming on PC isnĀ“t social), in example beer games using the wii.

Ā Mods, expansions, finer controls, more control flexibility, just plain better games.Ā I own every PS console made and I have owned every console made since PONG except Xbox 360 and Wii.Ā However, PC gaming has always been more fun.

Better in your opinion, right? As much as I love PC, I'll openly admit - there's some games I'd rather play on a console. Hook your console up to your TV and go, it's simple, it's fun. There's plenty of console games out there that really just set the consoles apart for me, God of War 2, Dead Rising, GRAW 1 & 2, Forza 2 and future games like Heavenly Sword, GTA4, FFXIII, Ratchat and Clank etc. There's WAY too many reasons for me to list as to why console gaming rocks. PC gaming great also, it's completely different most of the time. With PC games I'm either doing modding or playing online, which is where the PC shines IMO. And the list of great PC games is just as impressive as the consoles, if not more at times.
One area where consoles absolutely cannot compete at is MMO's - but those games, ugh, talk repititive. WoW for example, even if you wanted to play unless you devout your life to the game, you more than likely won't be even close to competing with the top players.

Ā
No one should ever play WoW with the intent of competing with other players unless they have no life at all.Ā Just pick the 3-4 race/classses you would most like to play, level them to 70, hit someĀ instances and quit when you get bored.Ā That's a good 2 years for anyone with a life outside of gaming.
Console has some decent RPGs compared to PC, and sports/racing will always be better on console (if you can stand those brain-dead genres), but PCĀ is KINGĀ in the large RPG, RTS, and FPS genres.
Ā
The Advantage of PC Gaming VS. Console Gaming, through out the days:
Ā
-Better potential resolutions and framerates- depending on hardware- which is interchangable/upgradable
-GamesĀ areĀ playedĀ fromĀ HardDrive-Ā noĀ mediaĀ handling/wear&tearĀ hassles, (NoCD patches are %100 legal to use)
-Highest-endĀ soundĀ withĀ CREATIVE X-FiĀ EAX5.0,Ā absolutely peerlessĀ inĀ complexity
-Many competingĀ companies creating pro "GamingĀ Grade"gear (mice, boards, wheels, joys etc)=more options/choices
-FullyĀ configurableĀ Interface/InputĀ settings-Ā fineĀ tuningĀ customizationĀ
-LargeĀ storageĀ units- that can always be added to/swapped to LARGER storage units-Ā
-network/lanĀ gamingĀ simplifiedĀ andĀ onĀ aĀ largerĀ scale
-gamesĀ areĀ generallyĀ cheaperĀ byĀ aĀ sizableĀ fraction
-can double asĀ yourĀ music/movieĀ collectionĀ jukeĀ box/home theater without touching physical cds/dvds
