Release summer 2012? They're showing it off really early, looks good though.

The graphs' are great and stuff, but you could see in the last 2 minutes skirmish demo that the AI is still down. Looks awesome though.

Yeah, it's looking far more optimized. ArmA 2 was so bad in the optimization and QA department. OA was much better.

Tell me about it. Not to mention the AI. My pilot crashed into a village instead of landing onto the flate field next to it, rendering transportation useless for the rest of the mission :(.

I am REALLY impressed to how close to the real thing the world looks. Hell, even the road signs look exactly the same as they do in actual Greek islands. The vegetation, the buildings, it's like they've gone there and taken photos of every single village. It's been many years since I've been to Lemnos, but they got the 'Aegean island' feel very well.

With patches they fixed all of the AI flight bugs in ArmA 2.

lol, the games' interfaces look almost exactly the same, if it wasn't made by OFP devs it would almost be plagiarism.

I agree, it's very poorly optimized, the game looks blurry and the motion blur is abysmal. The voices and handguns are pretty terrible too. Hopefully this one's better.

Looks wicked!

As long as its optimized a bit better and the animations are improved a bit I will be very happy :)

Seeing how much they improved things with Operaiton Arrowhead frmo ARMA2 I am confident they will do a great job again (Operation Arrowhead runs alot better then ARMA2 for those who just have arma2).

I looked at it. And its impressive in some regards but why do the animations and explosions still have to suck? I mean seriously. Models are nice for the most part but come on. It also has crappy water animations and reactions. We're in the era of BF3, Crysis 2 and the like. They can add those things in.

They are working on those things in ArmA 3 (PhysX implementation, new animations, etc). For explosions, simply download the WarFX Blastcore mod and you'll be amazed. If sounds aren't your cup of tea either, download one of the many complete and awesome soundpacks such as ACEX_SM or JSRS.

Remind me, does BF3 even have modding in it? No it doesn't, but ArmA 2 has a very easy to use scripting language, a full fledged map editor and the ability to create as much content as you want.

Crysis 2 was just a bad game to begin with, so we don't have a conversation on that. CryEngine 3 is impressive, but Crysis 2 is a piece of ****

not to mention that the scale of arma is much larger, they have to get the technical stuff right first before the look of it.

Actually animations, effects, and stuff like that are all pure production values. Studios like Bohemian Interactive can't afford the artists and techs to make their games all pretty.

Mods usually take care of that.

The Group Link 4 special FX mod is rather sexy when paired with the Jarhead Sound Mod. Makes ArmA 2 feel so much better.

I have to admit - at first I wasn't really impressed ... but now after watching these 20 minutes of gameplay with that guy explaining everything in detail ... I'm shocked as to how in-depth this game will actually be when it comes out - totally adding it on my check/buy list.:)
