Anyone know if there will ever be a new counter-strike game? I love counter-strike source but Its like forever old. Maybe they'll have one when the new half life game comes out?
they want to mvoe to a new engine.. teyve made it very clear they want to push more mp out and next year is when you can expect it.. in what capacity is unclear..
their probably jsut going to refresh source.. rev 3.0!! :o

If they're going to enhance it, it'll be more like 7.0 since Portal 2 is the 6th revision.
Expect a new CS with HL 3, since it's clear that they won't make an Episode 3.
hmm. making sense now. its all coming together :0 I though it was the other way around: they were going to make an episode 3 not a HL3 ? maybe im wrong. i dont read the newz
My guess is they'll be working on a new one once they have a new engine.

I would be shocked if Episode 3/Half Life 3 (whichever they do) does not use the next engine, and I would also be shocked if that engine wasnt mind blowing and something similar to Frostbite Engine 2 or better if it comes out significantly later.

It would make sense for it to be on a new engine since it has been forever since ep. 2... but then again, portal 2 would have most likely been on the new engine also since hl3/ep3 is supposedly coming out in the unknown near future...

I wouldn't be so sure. They would probably want to launch a new engine with a Halflife game not only as their flagship game, but also because they can really display what it can do. Portal 2 has about a total of 3 environments (destroyed test chamber, test chamber, and in between stuff) and static enemies. A halflife game can have any number of environments and lots and lots of human (or at least organic) NPCs to show off physics and character stuff.
