Shooter Hard Reset was announced suddenly - literally popped like a jack-the-box. Creates her Polish studio Flying Wild Hog were coming from People Can Fly, CD Projekt RED and City Interactive, a new game genre authors themselves identified as a cyberpunk-FPS. Output very soon - in September. What is a spontaneous attempt to bask in the glory of Deus Ex: Human Revolution? Or people working in the best Polish teams responsible for Painkiller, The Witcher and Sniper: Ghost Warrior, prepared fresh carcass really hit? In search of answers we got acquainted with an exclusive preview version.

Blade Runner
I have to say: Hard Reset - this is certainly not role-playing game, and coarse, straight shooter. A sort of Painkiller in rain and neon signs. To protect against aggressive machine the last bastion of humanity, the city of bezoar, the main character, Major Fletcher, takes a huge gun and begins to destroy the evil droids.

Cyberpunk entourage to Hard Reset impeccable. Violence against the rabid iron things unfold to the accompaniment of rain (in open locations, he pours almost without interruption) among the huge neon signs and endless skyscrapers. On wet streets full of advertising bezoar terminals: some offer the best cyber sex (phone and photo attached), while others immediately around the player approached him to holographic projections of the list of services, and the metallic female voice thanks for your attention. When it floats in front of you a huge, neon signs entwined with the ship, where the girl-narrator in Japanese something broadcasts in the city, stop, his mouth open - so majestic and beautiful it looks.

Hard Reset the plot is somewhat reminiscent of the movie "The Immortals: The War of the Worlds" - here, too, appear the gods, but not ancient Egyptian, Greek and.

Nanomayor
Under these futuristic beats the heart of the ****cal robes meat the old-school shooter. No automatic health regeneration (enemies sometimes leave behind the green areas that serve as first aid kits), shelter, or quick-time events: just you, a huge gun in his hands, the crowd of enemies but the smell of lead and blood. From the constant firing weapon is so hot and red, it seems that now the hands of the hero fry. However, the game is not as simple as it seems.

First, in addition to the level of health you have an energy shield (which is something he recovered!) And the scale of endurance, which is spent on running. Secondly, there is a leveling, similar to what we have seen, for example, in the Singularity. As in any decent cyberpunk thriller, you're going to nanoimplantaty levels, and then in the special apparatus for upgrading weapons and pumps the body of Major Fletcher. In addition to increasing the maximum level of health, the effectiveness of boards and kits, you can open some passive skills: one, for instance, make available a berserker mode (activated when the Major is critically low on health), while others allow you to collect more ammo and healing fields with corpses.

Graphics produces a nice impression: a lot of details and nice visual effects.

All weapons are divided into two groups - regular firearms (gun, shotgun, grenade) and the energy, shooting mostly clotted plasma. Initially, we give two trunks, and access to the new need to get it to upgrade machines. There you can increase the power of each gun (or, for example, the radius of destruction), provide additional features (such as telescopic sights) and firing modes. Thus, the usual shotgun in an alternative mode of paralyzing enemies smartgan energy - affects multiple targets, and rocket launcher receives laser targeting.

Heavy future
All of this ultimately creates the necessary tactical variety and makes you not only reap the trigger, but also think, like that in the first place to pump. We must think as it should, because the enemies in the Hard Reset do not give the hero the descent. From the first steps along the streets of bezoar players begin to attack the crowd aggressive droids on the legs, and soon they are joined by a huge robot that loves to ram you from the start.

We are particularly fond of the player locked in a confined space and down on his small piece of iron at the crowd support two to three burly fellow. And when you're already half-dead, deal with them, somewhere will always have one or more pogantsev.

Energy weapons, as it should, regenerates ammunition.

There will be bosses. At the end of the preview version, we met with a huge, half-screen, monster: he had to kill as many as three stages, firing point-armored enemy on the body and parallel to fighting off the weaker robots, rushing to the rescue. The game has excellent "peynkillerskaya" structure of the shootings, miss you just will not.

To cope with the hordes of monsters that have to constantly maneuver, strafe, use foul language and make frantic runs to the nearest first-aid kit. And yet - so diligently to destroy the carefully recreated cyberpunk entourage. Almost everything that is around, you can use against enemies. Barrels, containers, gas cylinders, futuristic machines - everything explodes, detonating and causing damage to anyone who was nearby. In addition, numerous terminals and the control panel when hit by electric discharges exude that paralyze enemies. So you have to calculate exactly when and where to shoot, to achieve maximum effect.

Authors love to hide in secret places nanobonusy, so the location has carefully searched.

«Hard reset» in Russian is translated as "cold reboot", that is a complete restart an unresponsive system. It is clear that the game itself to any genre of shooters reload does not claim - it is a bit old-fashioned, but it looks like a viable cyberpunk version of Painkiller. True, Duke Nukem Forever recently made it clear that even in the genre line fighters can commit follies, if the game will lose drive. But with this, no problem Hard Reset - Press the reset button on the system unit during the game we just did not want.

Edit: Here are some extra new pictures

Looks like a giant robot game I played on the dreamcast (can't remember it's name). It looks okay, but nothing special at this point. Also, we already have Prey 2 to look forward to which has the same visual style.

While I did enjoy inFAMOUS the cutscenes wereone of the things I hated about the game. I mean I don't get it, Flying Wild Hog spends all of this time and money on a new engine that looks goodand they just opt for comic book cutscenes.

Yeah Prey 2 is way more appealing. Right now I am very skeptical of Hard Reset. I was hoping for some awesome Perfect Dark/Timesplitters/Godleneye MP, but so far it looks like we are fighting strange looking robots that are not all that good looking IMO :P.

I'm very excited for the old-school gameplay. The visuals are good enough for me.

A mix between Singularity and TimeShift? Ehhh I don't know. It doesn't look that good at all.

And yet people complain about no new IPs.....yet when something more or less original comes out, all they do is compare it to high-budget sequels and call it bad. Good for you. No, really.

I am not passing judgement until I see a trailer or soemthing, but right now its not the type of game I was hoping for. I dont like fighting robots, I dont like run and gun stuff, and so on. I was hoping it would be different than all the run and gun FPS game today, and MAYBE it will be, but what I wanted was something more like GOldeneye, PErfect Dark, and TImesplitters. I miss this type of FPS, and you never see it anymore. I hope this game proves me wrong, but I hate the looks of the robot and the bigger gun. Looks cheesy. The smaller gun is awesome looking though.

What's wrong with fighting robots do we have to stick with killing aliens and people :(

The only thing I see so far that makes it different then todays run n gun FPS is that this is old school style. Hopefully they release some footage about the story and showing gameplay.

......uh, what? 98% of FPS out these days are cover-based shooters with regen health. Perhaps you haven't played one in about four or five years? Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, AND Timesplitters were all run-and-gun games; the first popular non-R&G game was Rainbow Six, and nothing of the sort became mainstream until the mid-2000s. I have a nagging suspicion you actually DO like run-and-gunners and are simply contradicting the impressiveness of this title for the sake of possessing an alternate perspective. Good for you.

GE, PD, and TS are NOT run and gun games. Not if you play them right. Of course they have some moments that are a bit of run and gun. I have indeed played FPS games these days and MOST are not cover based to my knowledge. And even still, the style I mean is the mindless linear level kill fest (Killzone 2). I like objectives blended with stealth and such. PD, GE, and TS had this. TS not quite as much.

Alright, I'm not the only one that thought of Prey 2 after seeing this, and the only Prey 2 footage I've seen was a few minutes during E3.

Was The Immortals a direct-to-video movie?! :(
