So I just installed a new asus M3N72-D motherboard because my old m2n-sli deluxe died on me and now I've got no video and no beeps. I have a 9800 gtx+ that worked fine before I installed the motherboard and the monitor I'm using is also fine. I also have an AMD 64x2 6400 and 4gigs of ddr2-800. Any suggestions or ideas?

No beeps eh? Have you connected all the power cables to the motherboard?

Are you sure that the old motherboard took out your cpu too or the other way around? In my experience, When you find out a motherboard or cpu is the bad apple your better off replacing both because chances are the one took the other one out too. Hopefully your old cpu hasnt damaged your new motherboard.

I'm sure everything's connected, it's the first time I've replaced a motherboard but I took my time. As far as my cpu, I actually replaced it when I replaced my motherboard so both the cpu and motherboard are brand new. I was in a hurry when I made my first post.

No beeps and spinning fans combined with black screen?

My first guess is that the CPU is missing/fried. My second guess would be the motherboard. Third would be PSU. Anything else should give you a beep code. http://webpages.charter.net/dperr/beepcode.htm

Now if the fans don't spin, either... then my only guess is the PSU.

Did you test your other components on another motherboard? Are you sure it was your motherboard that died?

I can turn it on, but get no beebs or video, and it will just sit there and run. Everything runs as normal, except for no beeps, no video and no lights on the front of the case.

I'm sure its connected right, I'm trying to get in the front of my case to see if there's a problem on the other end of the wiring. I didn't realize how old my case was til I looked it up.

I tried a different psu and there's no change. Not quite sure where I go from here but I'll worry about it in the morning. Thanks for the help.

I feel like I've looked and worried about it so much that I'm seeing wires everywhere I go now. It's almost like those old cartoons when the characters would get hungry they would see people as turkey legs and stuff.

A friend of mine said he would take a look at it before lunch today, figured another set of fresh eyes is better at this point.
