This is just incredible, now if they're able to implement that into games, it'll be awesome. Though, the death scenes may get too realistic. But, it's awesome, way better than any heads I've seen so far. jjfz
It's not possible. How it works is that they make the GPU only render that one head and nothing else. It has no A.I. and there isn't much going on, that's how they're able to do tech demos that look that good. We still aven't been able to achieve the graphics shown in the FX series tech demo(You now, that butterfly girl, Crysis will actually be the first game to be able to match and surpass those graphics) So actually being able to achieve graphics of that magnitude is still a long ways off.

My machine in my sig will get around 50-60 more than likely. I am at work ATM so no way to test it out.
That's an incredible model. I'm more interested in the CGI Movie aspect of this, as it would create amazing movies with models like that.
However, games are a different story. My card (x1950xt) could render a 3d model as good as that, it would just take me a long time.
thats absolutely amazing lol, they should've done a hawt lady instead of an old man tho =pjamserver
They've used hawt ladies in plenty of demos also...

You rarely see a character up close in a game so it doesn't matter if it's that detailed.Gog
I feel the same way.

If you're rendering something in a 3d application (or that is, software rendering), your graphics card has NOTHING to do with it. Only thing it does is display the model in the viewport before rendering. :)
That's a little too real for my taste, plus it'll screw the industry by increasing game development time and cost. It's amazing though, basically a photograph.camzaman
i think that better development tools will come out that will fix most of the current issues in relation to high quality (visually) content

Even from a distance you would notice the increase in quality just like you will when comparing GTA3 to GTA 4. Plus this also gives you an idea of how the rest of a game will look in the future which is very close to photorealistic.
