Hi guys I wanted to share with the GS community on my next build the parts should arrive within nex week.

- Corsair Dominator 8GB DDR2-1066MHz

- 2X Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200.11 for 1TB RAID 0

- Creative Gigaworks S750 7.1

- Samsung "24" 1920x1200 245T

- XFX 780i motherboard

- PNY GeForce 9800GX2 QUAD-SLI

- 2X ASUS 20X dvd burners

- Thermaltake 1200W power supply

- 6X Zalman 120mm green LED fans

- Windows Vista SP1 X64

- Cooler Master COSMOS S full tower

- Intel C2D "Wolfdale" E8400 &!!!!!!!!! Intel C2Q "Yorkfield" Q9450

- Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra water cooling kit

- ASUS bluray rom it can read CD,DVD,BD but can only burn CD or DVD which is fine for me since Im going to get HDMI cable to connect my PC to my "46" LCD TV 1920x1080 which is about 5m away from my computer so I can watch BluRay movies.

there it is thats about all my new parts comming in I will have a youtube video & benchmarks since I got like 100 computer games everything from GOW,Crysis,COD 4, UT3, Supreme Commander just check out my profile to see my complete up to date list of PC games I have Im also waiting for Assasins Creed & Rainbow Six Vegas 2 to come in since I placed a preorder.

Also I made a mistake when I bought the E8400 but since it was soo cheap I didnt bother canceling my order thanks to ebay, I will see which one will be better then sell the other one on ebay.

Lastly Im not rich Im only 20 years old but I have a permeant job so I just like computers its my hobby however I was going to get 790i with 4GB DDR3 1.8GHz however I decided not to maybe next build this year will be DDR3 for sure also I didnt want to get QX9650 since QX9770 will be out fairly soon & I might get that instead.

If your only 20 and dont have a huge income, why spend this much? Spend like $2000 and you will be able to max out every game (except Crysis) anyway.

HAHAHA I knew that the first comment will be smilar to yours, well I never disclosed how much I earn did I? secondly I like computers as a hobby & I dont feel bad or any guilt spending this much money on computer hardware, I own like 100 or something computer games which I only beaten 5% of since I only buy games to test out my hardware as soon as I cant play games on max settings I know its time for upgrade but I do enjoy playing casually Im more of a collector however.

Yes Im also aware you can max every game out except Crysis with a $2000 computer however when you buy a computer thats worth $6-$8000 its something else I tell ya, you really need to have that feeling so you know whats it like its not JUST a computer its a MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha anyways thnx for your thoughts

I did this same thing about a year ago. But I went with a 30'' monitor.

It's worth it to do it once, get the best rig out there at the moment.

I will not do it again though, should be your experience as well. It's just not worth it, as not even current hardware can play Crysis at ultra high resoultions (2560x1600) on high graphic settings.

I didnt want to go with 2560x1600 route since in order to play games on this setting on max you will need to upgrade your video card everytime new high end comes out & besides my 1st lcd was 19" 1280x1024 which I got last year now I have a 22" 1680x1050 lcd & its big difference for me so now Im getting "24" 1920x1200 to see how this resolution works out for me.

30'' monitor is so worth it dude, even for the cost of the graphics cards. And I would upgrade my graphics card to the latest gen when it comes out anyway, so it's not a big deal for me.

If you can send your monitor back, I recommend it.

It's great. I can have 3 gamespot's side by side and read them fine. You can also change the resolution of the monitor to something a little less when not playing games :P

Also, the 30''s that are out right now are a lot better than the one I have which is only 1 year old (Dell 3007WFP-HC).

There were 3 main 30'' I looked at. HP's Dell's and Apple. I ended up with the Dell, but you should check into which one would be best for you now.

I forgot them, I looked at Samsung to.

If you are serious about a 30'' (which I think you should be given your budget), I'd recommend reading reviews. But let me tell you that all of the companies with 30''s use the same panel so you'll get pretty much identical features. So choose the one with the best price, this is what I went with (before the new series came out).

So, go read reviews man :)

Getthe 790i XFX board and just 2Gb of DDr3 RAM and you'll have a much better set up. 8Gb will not be needed for gaming at all.

actually if you look at any reviews you will see for yourself this LCD is complete has HDMI & other inputs not just DVI & the specs on the lcd is one of the best for 19x12 panels as for one 9800GX2 will perform same as two 9800GX2 well I dont think you know too much what your talking about lol that would be the case if you were playing 1280x1024 rez however on higher resolution there is a difference between 1 & 2 of this cards just look up some reviews to see for yourself

I was going to get 790i however you cant have 2GB of RAM on 64 bit OS that would be sucide since I dont want to go back to 32 bit since I love 64 bit I need at least 4GB & getting 4GB DDR3 isnt that cheap yes I can afford it but whats the point when you get 8GB DDR2 1066MHz which is the fastest DDR2 you can get for like half the prize of just getting 2GB 1.8Ghz DDR3 & 8GB wont make much difference in games compared to 4GB not yet anyways but it will make 64 bit OS much faster overall & for the price you cant complain next build will have DDR3 maybe even 2.0GHz models when they came out or faster ones even

20 years old, not rich, spending $8000 on a computer, and claiming to be buying new cars later this year both worth over $30,000?

Either you're lying, in extreme debt, or you won the lottery.

If your spending that much get this:

Intel QX10600 Core Octo and overclock it to like 4.0GHz

EVGA 890i Striker motherboard

Get 16 GB GDDR-4 RAM

Eight terabyte harddrives

Giant Tower Case to house all of the components

Two 1200 Watt powersupplys

Four 10800GTX's in SLI

Windows Vista SP2

You'll have to wait a few years for the octo cores and DDR4 to reach Australlia.

Nice rig man. I'm in awe. Congratulations. As for SimpJee's comment, I bet you can prove him wrong. 2560x1600 with 2 9800GX2s should be no problem.

Nice rig man. I'm in awe. Congratulations. As for SimpJee's comment, I bet you can prove him wrong. 2560x1600 with 2 9800GX2s should be no problem.GodLovesDead

Here's benchies of a similar setup getting owned at very high detail at res 2560x1600.

Also, I hope I get proven wrong very soon, because I'm getting sick of the graphics cards companies releasing last-gen refresh cards.

[QUOTE="domke13"]LCD is **** (u could get something that is at least half decent) and 2x9800GX2 will perform same as only one 9800GX2. sparkstar01

actually if you look at any reviews you will see for yourself this LCD is complete has HDMI & other inputs not just DVI & the specs on the lcd is one of the best for 19x12 panels as for one 9800GX2 will perform same as two 9800GX2 well I dont think you know too much what your talking about lol that would be the case if you were playing 1280x1024 rez however on higher resolution there is a difference between 1 & 2 of this cards just look up some reviews to see for yourself

Srry about LCD, i missed T at the end. I though its 245B. But i still think im right about 2 9800GX2. Performance gain definatly doesnt justify the price.

I hope you didn't order that system already, as there's some substantial changes I'd like to make. -First off, with an over-the-top budget like that, you might as well get yourself an Intel Skulltrail motherboard. -On that Skulltrail should be two Core 2 Extreme QX9775s. -A pair of Thermalright Ultra-120 Extremes would allow for massive overclocks on both QX9775s past 4.0 GHz, though you could probably afford water-cooling or better. -The Skulltrail board uses FB-DIMMs as opposed to typical unbuffered RAM found in desktops. I'm not enlightened enough in this area to suggest a particular FB-DIMM brand or model. However, what I can say is that the Skulltrail supports up to 16 GB. (Why Intel decided to stop there when a Mac Pro can accept twice that is beyond me...) -Two GeForce 9800 GX2s, or two Radeon HD 3870 X2s-it's your call, as Skulltrail supports both SLI and CrossFire. -You're getting some nice speakers, so you ought to treat them right with an audiophile-class sound card. I suggest either the Auzentech X-Fi Prelude or the Asus Xonar D2X. -The Skulltrail board needs two 8-pin CPU power leads for proper functioning, and I don't know of any consumer PSUs that fit that requirement. Perhaps you should get a dual-PSU-mount case like the Antec P190 and replace the PSUs with better ones if necessary, like a pair of PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool models; each PSU can give its 8-pin CPU power lead to one CPU. -You might want to consider the Gateway XHD3000 when looking into 30" 2560x1600 displays, as it has a nice scaling chip that makes non-native resolutions look good. That's about it for my list of suggestions, though I really have to question why you'd splurge this much on a single PC when you can spend just 2000 US$ on a high-end system and either save the rest for future systems or put it towards other PCs just like the first one for a small LAN party.

No I wouldn't reccomend Skulltrail. I've seen plenty of reviews and the extra CPU does almost nothing for gaming. Just get yourself a nice Quad core extreme with some watercooling and OC that to 4.5Ghz! Oh and good luck playing crysis at 2560x1600 :P.

Okay, so games don't like the slower FB-DIMMs and hardly take advantage of four cores, let alone EIGHT. I'll give you that. However, computers aren't just for gaming. With eight cores overclocked to 4.5 GHz or more and 16 GB of RAM, he could probably run Crysis in the foreground while doing something like CGI rendering, ripping a CD or DVD, or compressing files in the background that loads the other CPU. There are still uses for having lots of CPU cores.

Hence why he mentioned the monitor haveing a scaling chip to make non-native reselutions not hiddious.

ALL I got to say is just look up MAXISHINE & TRUBRITAR on youtube they both did a crysis benchmark recently on 1680x1050 & TRUBRIATR has the SKULLTRAILl motherboard with the 2 QX9775's & 9800GX2 QUAD-SLI with 8GB DDR2-800mhz however he lost to maxishine by a few frams in the final result but the interings thing is MAXISHINE had only 2GB DDR3-1800mhz with 9800GX2 QUAD-SLI & get this!!!!!!!!!! a INTEL E8500 LOL yes a simple dual core cpu becasue he fried his QX9650 which was at 4.6ghz so his replacing it so expect even better result with the QX when he gets a new one back.

The fact is the skulltrail platform isnt designed for gaming its more for encoding & crap like that.
