There is no way you can include an OS... Not unless you knock it down to a single core and go with onboard graphics.LuminouslightHe already has an Xp Os.

[QUOTE="UltimateGamer95"]Mhmm im trying to stick to that Quad. It's not possible for $350 dollar budget for everything... Maybe if you take away the wireless adapter, the CD/DVD drive, and keyboard and mouse you could possibly fit it in tightly. How about this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.262083

Get this CPU instead. Just because that Athlon II was a quad-core doesn't make it faster

It's cheaper to go with the combo because you save $15 on the combo. So do you guys think it's possible with $55 to buy a case/ram and psu? If not i'll push the budget to $370 and that gives us $75 to work with.RedxSniperAlright I'm signing out for tonight good luck RedxSniper (though honestly you may have to go with a cheaper CPU anyway).
Okay. A quick question because i may of found a solution. How much better is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227289 over this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034 As in is it worth paying an extra 20-30$ if your a hardcore gamer that plays crysis and such. Because if so, I got that for $30 a couple months ago, So... I'll pay the extra $35 use that, and give him that XMS2.RedxSniperhere Corsair is good with rebates (recieved mine no problem)

Case / PS
Motherboard
CPU
HDD
DVDRW
Ram
network card
Kboard
Mouse
Video card
All this = $3 left i believe. $347 total.
I gotta check if case has 3 usb. BTW your friend should stop being a cheap ass and spend like $25 more and get a real video card, that was the most difficult part of the system, they are all just so bad to choose from for under $40.
Hi Hey Red one thing you should check when choosing a mother board is the CPU support.
I was looking to put together an economy build for a friend. On the AMD side you have to be
careful. The Athlon II X4 quads are pretty new and some boards need a bios update to support
them. If you don't have an older processor to set the bios you'll be in trouble. I found a new
Gigabyte board that supports all the new AMD processors. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128407
The Biostar board you chose has to be board revision 6X. Maybe Newegg can check that for you. According
to the Biostar site board version 6X will support all the new processors. http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/cpu_support.php?S_ID=433
The board i chose can with the combo so wouldn't that mean it has to work? And can someone please answer my RAM question.RedxSniperYou won't see really any performance over faster RAM. It's not worth it unless you are overclocking.
Just get him a dual-core since he wanted one in the first place and it will also be easier on your budget.
Hey how's it going? After reading through all posts I've come to a conclusion:
You can either get the first system we built together but leave yourself very little space for peripherals and other useful things, or get a greatly weaker dual core system with a 43xx/94xx with which he definitely can't play newest games (maybe on low, or even not at those settings) but also get some nice quality peripherals. The choice is yours.
What exactly are peripherals? Wireless and keyboard?RedxSniperperipherals are any device that externally connects to your computer such as monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, wireless adapter etc.
mhmm the pheriperals are about $30 in the build. And the dvd/cd drive is about $30 as well.RedxSniperMake a video lazy bones lol.
I would drop but from what i hear you need a quad for flight simulators. I might be able to fit it in the budget if i drop the peripherals. I'm going to talk to him soon. And if he has a cd/dvd drive then i'm in luck :P Even then would it be a bad idea to use my ide dv/cd drive?
And a game that he tried on my computer that he loves is HAWX. So.
Alright man good luck! Oh and like my avatar by the way? I know it's a bit fanboyish but it's mostly Half-Life 2 anyway. Yes I do like AMDI would drop but from what i hear you need a quad for flight simulators. I might be able to fit it in the budget if i drop the peripherals. I'm going to talk to him soon.
