New RAM added

Recently got my comp back as it had 2 be fixed due to my stupidity. Anyway, more to the point, the guy added new ram into my comp, its 1gb samsung dual-channel @2000mhz with the timings of 3-3-3-8. Is that decent? My computer did have a gig of ram before, but feels slightly quicker now.

You will need to consult your motherboard manual and the specs for the memory to determine the optimum settings. If you only had 1 Gb of Ram before but now you have 2 Gb you were probably hitting your paging file pretty often before the upgrade and that's going to slow things down.

Sorry, I mean to say he took out the ram and added in a new ram but its still 1gb. I was just wondering if the timings and what not might increase performance

Oh and btw he only took out the ram cos there was a powersurge due to me being a dumb a$$

You probably had a stick of lower frequency ram before that was forcing a funky divider. He likely upgraded you to something that runs 1:1 with your CPU which is more likely to cause a performance boost than a decrease in latency timers.

Faster RAM is always > 1:1. Nobody really cares about 1:1 anymore. That being said he DID most likely upgrade the frequency, so it will be faster.
