There are deffinately some things I would change on that build.

As for your question, most of those items, primarily the GPU and CPU will drop in price. Once the new ATI cards come out, and the new AMD processors come out, the nVidia and Intel stuff will drop.

If you have 30", or 24" monitor, this rig is kickass. It pwns all. But if you have 22", 20", 19", or something lower, than it isnt smart to spend such amount of money on that kickass rig.

So dou you have 30", or 24" monitor?

by the time crysis comes out, the memory might be slightly cheaper.

Overall, holy **** that is one fine @$$ computer.

However, I've always wondered why people are willing to spend as much as a car on a computer

If you're willing to wait till Q1 2008, the QX6700 will be a lot cheaper....since Intel's new line will be coming out.

With that budget will you consider 4GB in RAM?

Also consider a bigger harddrive? 100 more GB for I think $10 or so.

Do you need a DVD-ROM drive to go with the burner or?

1000W seems like a bit much. I think the CORSAIR PSU 600(or so)W. That's what I'll be getting.

And I also got a floppy drive just in case. ;)

Very ture about the doubling of the RAM.

You might want to consider two HDDs...one for games...one for everything else.

i know i listed 4 gigs in the specs.  i am not just buying it for one game.  i figured back in december i would just wait till the first dx10 game comes out and then i will set for the rest of the dx10 games for a while.

of cource, the power that graphics cards consume is skyrocketing. You can stick with the 1000 watt PSU for a pretty long time.

about the 2 HDDs, you could get one 7200 RPM HDD for everything like your OS, and one 10,000 RPM drive for games. 10,000 RPM drives will dramatically raise performance

A few things:

1: The SFF21E fans are lower-RPM than the SFF21F versions. I'm using the SFF21F fans myself, and they're barely audible. Something to consider.

2: Go with a SATA DVD burner - no sense in paying that much for an IDE device when SATA costs the same.

3: No way in hell I'd pay $60 for the Freezer 7 Pro - I paid $23 or so for mine, but nearly triple that is not worth it. Head over to FrozenCPU and pick up a Tuniq 120 or Thermalright Ultra 120 and an extra SFF21F fan if they're not in stock at Newegg.

4: For the 10k RPM vs. 7200RPM issue, I'd say it's worth it - the noise isn't horrible, and in a rig like that, it helps alleviate the biggest bottleneck in your system. A 74GB one should do the trick nicely - and since the Stacker 830 has one of those nifty side-mounted racks (I believe), you could even spring for a Raptor X drive if you really want to show off.

5: Not a huge deal, but pick up the Cooler Master Stacker 830 Evolution - removeable motherboard tray for the same price? Sign me up.
