I recently got a new rig to play newer games(medium settings or sometimes high)

Anyway, I like action games and shooters. I've made a list of games to buy, tell me what you think:

Mafia - The only game I currently Own

Half-Life 1&2, Oblivion, Kotor 1&2, UT 2004, Riddick, Far Cry, Max Payne 1&2, F.E.A.R, Battlefield 2, Doom 3, Call of Duty 2, Rainbow: Vegas.

I've played a few of these games briefly, except for max payne, I've beaten both. Can anyone reccomend me more good PC action/shooters?

PS: Anything that came out on PS2 is already in my collection

Prey

Stalker

Battlefield 2142

Painkiller (you can get it off of Steam)

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

Titan Quest

Dungeon Siege 2

Diablo 2

Now, I know those last three are usually considered to be RPGs, but they are in all intents and purposes action games.

The original Deus Ex is one of the best shooters ever made. It's not full action though. It involves sneaking around sometimes, and you arn't very accurate at the start, so you need to hide in the shadows aiming at someone for a few seconds to get good accuracy.

Good ones mentioned; I'd add:

Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific -just came out and got good reviews here. This will look nice on your new PC.

ArmA Armed Assault -sequal to Flashpoint, and has a free demo. The full release is in May, but this is the most realistic FPS you can play. The island has 400 square kilometers of complex terrain, and there are tanks, hummers, Blackhawks, and it's a blast once you figure out the basic commands. The reason I would recommend this is not that the graphics engine is "prettier" close up, but that it has superior viewing depth -towns and mountains a mile away look that far away and are to scale -compared to many dx games where everything is a little out of proportion. If you are interested in playing higher end games, this would compliment some of the other ones you're getting, by being different, and far more realistic.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. It's not an action game, but is still worth it. Take off in a float plane in Alaska around mountain scenery and your blood pressure will drop. This is a nice looking, and has so many ways you can play. The flight lessons are worth the price tag alone.

I highly recommend the Splinter Cell series, if you haven't already played them.

Comand and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars

Supreme Commander

Devil May Cry 3 (that is if you didn't play it on the PS2)

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

As RPGs i recommend Oblivion and Neverwinter Nights.

Enjoy!
