I'm very much so looking to pick up a new tower (mid or full), a new CPU (I prefer AMD, my last 3 CPUs were AMD and I never had a problem with them, but I don't mind checking out Intel) and a new MB that mustsupport SLI (I do not want a MB that does 3x SLI - for I will never go that route nor do I ever see myself having that kind of money for something like that).

I'd much rather not get a new MB/CPU that requires DDR3 memory, since I've got good DDR2 (2 x 2GB AData 5-5-5-18), plus picking up DDR3 cuts into my overall cost. However, I'm open to suggestions that would require me to get DDR3.

I need a good tower that has good air flow. What I have now is nearly 3 years old and the air flow is ok, but it's limited. Don't ask me what current tower I'm using is, because for the life of me I cannot remember the model or the maker.

My budget, I'd really like to stay under $400, but if I need to drop up to $500 it wouldn't kill me....I'd just rather not quite spend that much. I've done a little looking around, but I always like to here suggestions.....also, I'm not that great at picking out good towers.

I'm good on HDD (2 of them; main is 160GB - slave is 500GB), 2x 8800GTS 512MB for SLI, PSU is 750W Cooler Master and I have XP for an OS. I really need to do a clean sweep on my main HDD because it's giving me greif and I have not reformatted it since I got it...just over 2 years ago. I figure it's time for an upgrade since most things in my PC are 2 years old or older.

Any help/ideas/suggestions would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks in advance.

If I were you I think I would wait a little bit. The reason is that I believe every mobo I have seen that can take an I7 processor requires DDR3 memory. This is the future and the I7 has a new socket size (LGA 1366). If you buy a mobo now and go with a LGA 775 socket it will limit your upgradability in the future. Of course you could stick with AMD but to be honest they haven't really come to the table with a reasonable (price to speed ratio) processor to compete at the high end. If you must upgrade now, the only reasonable choice would be AMD though. As far as a case, this is a very personal decision. The favorite case of builders seems to always be an Antec 900 or 1200. These are very well built and have great airflow. Personally I like my cases to look a little mopre interesting though.

Well I would go with An AMD Phenom 2 920 or 940 with An ASUS AM2+board to reuse your ram, the coolermaster 932 HAF case, Ive just one and its a case you can use years from now lots of airflow lots of room and great cable management. Also the New Phenom 2's can keep up with the i7 920 in games at stock speeds.
