Microsoft hasn't mentioned anything yet about the interconnectivity of their different platforms outside of saying that Windows 8 will have heavy Windows Live integration. The news from Build 2011 was pretty lite, focusing very much on the small changes between Windows 7 and Windows 8 and didn't really mention anything about the major changes. I'd say the biggest things to come out of Microsoft's keynote was support for ARM-based and the developer preview beta going public later tonight.
"We are confirming that we will be bringing Xbox LIVE to the PC with Xbox LIVE on Windows. We are very excited about Xbox LIVE coming to Windows 8. Xbox LIVE brings your games, music, movies, and TV shows to your favorite Microsoft and Windows devices. Bringing Xbox LIVE to Windows 8 is part of our vision to bring you all the entertainment you want, shared with the people you care about, made easy"
That is just terrible looking. I really hope there is a way to turn off this Xbox Live nonsense because I couldn't be less interested in it. If there's no way to opt out of the "service" I'll be sticking with Windows 7 and that's fine by me.

It will probably be like the Games Explorer. It's an optional thing some people will use. I don't think this is going to allow people to play Xbox games on their PC. Maybe some games, but I think it is mostly just integration the Xbox look into PC. Video and music will probably be available, but I can't seem them porting a bunch of games to PC.

Aah. So Microsoft is letting the Xbox division do the talking on this. Don't know how I feel about that.
Windows 8 boots up in half the time of Win7 and uses less ram. Hell with a SSD is boots to log in screen in like 2 seconds! XBL sucks though.
Keeping my eye on this. XBL could EASILY ruin Win8
