Typically UPS is not allowed to do what they did. Newegg requires all packages from them to be signed for receipt. So if UPS just left it on your porch and someone stole it... It's UPS's fault.WDT-BlackKat
Thats what I thought but newegg customer service says different. They wont do anything for me. It really is sad.

Unrelated to what you ordered...I HATE HATE HATE Neweggs LCD Monitor policy...a friend had a new system (after many years of using a Pentium 1 and my help ordering) and I finally got him to get rid of his BIG Monitor. I always heard Newegg was so great so I got him to order his LCD from them...it arrived and there was a bad pixel...it was stuck on Bright Green (not dead). He was understanding and said he would just live with it but I felt so bad...called NewEgg and they read their return policy and basically told me I was screwed. I never ordered from them again.JohnD212
Wow thats pretty bad service. I am shocked to hear that (mabey not so much anymore). I am never ordering through them again there are alot of other online stores out there.
How many people do you think call up with the story "My package got stolen with my $500 video card in it" and they're lieing because they want 2 of them? They arent going to just poof send you a new one. Yes UPS does suck, it takes them a week to deliver stuff from newegg using 2-3 day service, and I never bother with any other because it always takes a week. If its anyones fault its UPS, if they left it there to get stolen, then how is that neweggs fault, a guy from newegg didnt deliver the card did he?deadlytongs
How is it my fault? I have no video card and Im out 300 bucks. It is neweggs fault there was not a signatue required for a $300 delivery.

FedEx guys are generally a bit more careful with your stuff, and I suspect it's because their asses are slightly more on the line haha. And... hrm, the LCD monitor policy is pretty much normal. You can't exchange, though you can return and eat a restocking fee at a lot of places.

I notice this also Newegg didn't always do this. Its probably been withen the last year and half that they started this new policy. Which in my case I do like, because I am at work most of the day.

Newegg DOES require a signature for delivery. UPS 'requires' a signature for delivery, and you have to manually go in there and specify that a signature is not required. Your driver just ignored that requirement.I recently ordered an evga gtx260 from newegg. When I got home from work the day it was suposed to be delivered I didnt see the package. I went inside and checked the tracking number on ups.com it said the package was "delivered" at my front door. I called ups and yelled(I hate ups) that didnt help. Then I called newegg. I have to wait 7-10 buisness days for a replacement or refund. I need this so I can use the step up program. I need the packing material, I dont want to go 2 weeks without my gameing pc, and its a good excuse to go sli. I have until the 3rd to use the step up program. I explained this and the fact that I have spent over $2000 probably closer to $3000 in the past couple of months with them and they would not do anything for me. I dont think I will be using Newegg in the future. It seems like they really appriciate their customers.artiedeadat40
UPS screwed you over. You need to deal directly with them since they sent newegg a confirmation that it was delivered. No business is going to reship a item that sounds like around 300-350usd to you even though you spent 2-3grand in the last several months.
You need to get up, drive down to the shipping/CS center that the package left to be delivered for your area and demand to see the delivery transcript. If it isnt signed then you can really drive it into UPS.
However you got to think of it this way. "Who the heck are you?". That newegg CS rep does not KNOW YOU. How is he supposed to not know if this is some scheme and even if you are the recipient that your being truthful? UPS, a company, is telling them you got the package and it shows in their records. You call up wanting them to take your word for it and ship you out at their risk.
Do you think your the only one who has spent thousands of dollars at newegg? What if they did this for everyone? Heck my ups guy never has me sign. I could order something, say it got swiped, and call newegg and pout about how my 3 grand over the past couple months should entitle me to blind trust. If they did this, do you know how much money they would lose?
You said you work in the electrical field in another thread. You should know first hand how desperate thieves are for copper wiring. If you would have went down like a sane person to the UPS center and got this taken care of correctly then you could have known if it was delivered and someone stole it or not, or if ups fumbled and your package is still at the warehouse. Either way you would have answers and Newegg might be more willing to work with you.
UPS successfully delivers more packages for newegg in one day than your entire history of spending at newegg. You gotta use your head and handle UPS first before you can get Newegg to listen because its UPS records against your word.

Did you read what I wrote? I said its UPS's fault for not knowing how to do their job. I simply asked you how are you blaming newegg for UPS screwing you? That would be like me blaming Audi because my car got stolen , and they wont sendme a new $49,000 car because I called up and asked them nicely.deadlytongs
They wont admit that there is a sig required for delivery. Which is an option when shipping through ups, and it should be. I am just asking for them to do a customer of theirs a favor who does give them buisness. I know they have much larger clients than me but it would have been nice.
What can I do through ups (which I will never use again). Its not like I never use newegg. They have my account records they should know I am a loyal customer. If my boss is doing work for a builder(or someone who gives him alot of work) their prices for a service call ar lower, its called customer service. Newegg will get the money through ups. Ups does not want to lose their buisness. Im the one that gets screwed.artiedeadat40
Trust me. Dont call them. You need to look at your shipping transcript reported by your UPS tracking # and go to the LAST stop before it was put on a delivery truck to your address. You print out the contract that says UPS must make you sign for your package and go right in there and demand to look at the signiture on the invoice for your "delivered" package. If they cannot show you the signiture that is when you demand to talk to a manager and get it settled.
You have legal on your side IF you didnt sign, which you say you didnt. Get this done and then UPS can change it in the system and it will reflect it to Newegg. If they see in their system that the package wasnt delivered and lost, then newegg will ship it right back out to you. Your waiting 7-10 business days for newegg to investigate what you reported. They would have wrote it in their system that you stated non delivery and it is the time between them contacting UPS and then UPS replying that takes 7-10 business days to finalize.
You can also have packages delivered and HELD at the closest distribution center and go pick it up. Many do this because of what has happened to you.
You gotta take matters into your own hand and do this in person with UPS. You gotta be a upstanding **** and not be nice about it. Just dont be outright irate. Go in there and let them know that it is not a request. This is your stuff. You gotta look a CS at the desk dead in the eye, let them see the FLAMING PUPILS, and set them straight like I have.
I like usps better than ups allways have. I have never used fedex. I will now.artiedeadat40
Bah the United States Postal Service is garbage when it comes to shipping packages. This is why I tend to shy away from Amazon and eBay. BTW I here that the Postal Service has a contract with FedEx to ship all over night pacakges through them(FedEx).
Anyways go with FedEx if you have to -- you may not get the option to have it signed, but at least you will get your packages.

Loyal customers can steal too, but I do agree with you on the lower prices. I would rather have even free shipping or 2% off my order if im going to be spending tons of money with them, something would be nice. But you just have to wait on the card wich sucks, and I see why you're angry.Do you have an older card, or onboard video to use untill you get the card? Obviously not going to be as good as the one you baught, but at least you could play games untill it gets there.
Newegg is different from a business like you work in, they cant just assume you're being truthfull, or they would lose so much money they would have to close. An example of that would be the return policy of the store my friend ran.. They just took things back no questions asked.. they lost so much money the store had to close, people would return things that didnt come from that store, but the policy was "just take it back dont make them upset". Bestbuy did the same thing to me with a broken washer, and I has spent arround 24k in their store on that one order, they used to have the best policy on things like that, but I suspect they were losing to much money to keep it up from dishonest people.
I now think that you should blame dishonest people along with UPS, wich caused this. I try and be home when my order is "suposed" to be there, wich means 4 days late :-0. You could have it delivered to a friends house that someone is home at every day. Or I did call UPS and tell them not to leave stuff because my neighbors were stealing it, they now make anyone taking delivery at my adress sign for something.

What is Driver Release?
Driver Release is a UPS residential delivery policy that allows a UPS driver to leave a package at a private residence without getting a signature. At the discretion of the driver, a package can be left out of sight and out of weather.
Please note this service is only available in select areas.
He cannot legally leave it on the front of your porch. If he cannot hide it.. he has to..
What is a UPS InfoNotice?
A UPS InfoNotice is left by the UPS driver to indicate a delivery has been attempted. Each UPS InfoNotice contains a UPS InfoNotice number. This number appears on the bottom of the UPS InfoNotice above the barcode. You can use this number to track, locate, and verify the arrival of packages. Select Track from the UPS tool bar and enter your UPS InfoNotice number as you would a Tracking Number.
So he hid it out of sight and out of weather or he needs to leave behind the slip if your not there. If he did neither then UPS is legally responsible. As I said.. go to them face to face. You can also demand to speak to the driver.

It depends on the brand, each has their own policy on stuck or dead pixels, the only brand I know that will cover you for even 1 dead or stuck pixel is Viewsonic. Usually stuck pixels are more common then dead pixels (you can cure most of them by applying pressure to the screen and turning on the monitor, or by using programs that try to switch them on and off really fast). Other than Viewsonic you'd have to look up the policy, they usually require a minimum amount of dead or stuck pixels to be eligible for return. As for your delivery problem, I would take it up with UPS, Newegg has always given me and others I know good support. If they don't have your signature, I'm pretty sure they are obligated by contract to reimburse you.[QUOTE="threepac81"]Like he said UPS has not had him sign for packages in the past... [QUOTE="CreasianDevaili"][QUOTE="threepac81"]Like he said UPS has not had him sign for packages in the past... SO watch them pull out a contract with NewEgg that says they don't have to have you sign.
ALso I have notic that even if you are home they don't even nock they just leave the package. This what happens to me every time no matter if I go through UPS or FedEx.
threepac81
You obviously never got up and personally with UPS at a shipping center..
If he cannot hide it.. he has to..
So he hid it out of sight and out of weather or he needs to leave behind the slip if your not there. If he did neither then UPS is legally responsible. As I said.. go to them face to face. You can also demand to speak to the driver.
Actually, you are right... I have been told about the policy before and I just forgot. My Fault.
Wasnt meant to be a attack. However we all know that if the delivery guys can get away with slinging a package out then many of them will. UPS guys dont all last long and only the ones who have been on the same route for many many years will you get better service.
Oh the phone and even in person they wont willingly bring up these policies. You got to bring it with you and put it in their face and let them know that your researching and your not a stupid customer. I got screwed way too many times in my day that I just become a butthead about these things.
The UPS and FEDEX guys dont screw with me anymore. The way to my place is like driving in "Wrong turn" movie. There was one time that the UPS guy, a fill in for the holidays, delivered a basket of fruit from my wife's sister. He put it on my back porch in the snow. Now this door has no path to it. Was no note on the front door to say anything. I found it 2 days later after a few nights in sub zero windchills and a icestorm mixed in.
I took it to the center and put it on the counter and asked if the counter person wanted to take a bite of omgbbq frostbitten pears. Sure enough my wife's sister was refunded her money on UPS's account because they caused the damage. I had to give the entire basket back to them even though there was some nice looking cheese in there to get them to do it but hey.
I've ordered many things through UPS, and ONE TIME they've actually taken the package back when we weren't home. The rest of the time they just leave on the doorstep(no doorbell or anything even with cars there).
Whenever I have to ship something for business purposes I ALWAYS use FedEx(and always tell UPS to hold any package there, so this stuff never happens)
[QUOTE="WDT-BlackKat"]Typically UPS is not allowed to do what they did. Newegg requires all packages from them to be signed for receipt. So if UPS just left it on your porch and someone stole it... It's UPS's fault.artiedeadat40
Thats what I thought but newegg customer service says different. They wont do anything for me. It really is sad.
First of all, it's not Newegg's fault. It's entirely UPS's fault. UPS has left many packages infront of my door on several occasions. And I was like WTF. If I didnt have honest neighbors, the packages would have been easily stolen. After those incidents, I specifically ordered UPS to never leave my stuff infront of the door like that. Now, they make sure I sign for every single package. Again, it's UPS's fault. They should cover for it. Was the package insured?
[QUOTE="artiedeadat40"]I recently ordered an evga gtx260 from newegg. It seems like they really appriciate their customers.CreasianDevaili
DO THAT.
I have yet to have UPS ask for a signature. They have left all my packages on the front step.
But don't blame newegg, this is totally UPS's fault. I have always recieved good customer service from newegg.
Hehe, DHL isn't that big, FedEx isn't too great either they leave stuff on the lawn, USPS throws it and sometimes doesn't even make the lawn. Once some dog even took off with it :lol:X360PS3AMD05
Thats why I ALWAYS would rather go to a retail store and pick it up myself. TigerDirect.com has a warehouse outlet not too far from me so its nice just to go pick something up instead of dealing w/ the headache of shipping bs. On a $300 GPU i'ld rather pay the $20 or $30 and walk away w/ it in my hands with that warm feeling inside then putting my faith in package handlers.

Yeah, Newegg is the best. RMA's are done super fast and efficient as well. I've never had one complaint.
