Do I have a bad motherboard if, Ive had two hard drives go bad in 4 months. Other symptons are weird stuttering in games my computer should run fine, and better performance when I underclock my cpu. Ive actually replaced my gpu, cpu and ram, still same issues. I imagine a 4850 paired with a 5200+ and 4 gigs of ram should play most games with no noticeable lag right?

Hi I wonder if you are getting power spikes from your power supply.

Maybe it has some bad filter capacitors. Another thing I read online,

it was an overclocking site I think,someone said it is possible to damage

a hard drive by changing CPU settings and memory timings. This is not

my opinion but it is just something I read. Um I just remembered something

posted awhile back by the great

-GeordiLaForge-. He is a member here at Gamespot.I think he lost a hard drive

recently. Maybe message him and ask him about it.

According to the manual...

The 20+4-Pin is +12v1

8-Pin CPU Power is +12v2/+12v3

6-Pin PCI-E is +12v3/+12v4

8-Pin PCI-E is +12v3/+12v4

It doesn't say which rail the PCI-E cables are on.

But according to the chart they have. It would seem that both the 6-Pin and 8-Pin are on the same +12v Rail because they suggest you make sure that both cables are on the same +12v rail for your GPU. So I would assume they would put both the 6-pin and 8-pin on the same rail. Meaning your having to split 18a between two video cards.

In relation to your last post, sorry about that. I thought I had read paired 4850s, you said a 4850 paired with. Sometimes my brain sees things differently then from what they are.

Well, if that is the case then, there shouldn't be a problem at all....

Make sure everything is mounted correctly? Make sure the PCI-E speed is correct in the BIOS?

The PCI-E frequency is supposed to 100MHz. Anything more can cause damage to the video card and hard drives.
