Yes, careful though, prepare to be labeled a WoW fanboy because you dont like bland game worlds and a PvP focused game with incredible average combat.PC360Wii
Agreed. I too just don't get that magic feeling with WAR. And yes, I even like PvP. I'll continue to play WoW and look forward to Wrath of the Lich King. I'm not a fanboy, I just don't think WAR is that amazing. It's a good game as a DAoC 2, but I still prefer the WoW formula.
WAR isn't bad, I just prefer WoW.
When playing in the beta, the preview weekends, and the head start, I had an almost euphoric sense of fun in the game. I expect a lot of folks who were feeling burnt out on WoW got a similar feeling in the tier 1 RvR bracket. You can fully participate in pvp without being 70. There's no CC or anything (unless you are playing with level 10s, which there weren't a lot of during the early access). Leveling at that point is a little slower than WoW's but doesn't take too long.
When I got into tier 2, the annoying things about the game really came to the forefront. Mostly due to the amount of RvR you need to do to level up in the game. Mix that with an overabundance of knockbacks and roots that start popping up a lot more in the next bracket and it felt like a substitution of WoW's honor grind with a new equally unfun renown grind.
This game has a lot going for it, but there's a number of underlying issues I would like to see addressed. Mythic just added the ability to queue all scenarios for your tier without having to switch areas. That will help a ton with the scenario burnout, at least in my case. Still, there's the leveling grind that gets tedious. Leveling needs to be scaled back to where it was in beta, or more quests and what not need to be added.
I'm probably going to take a few months off to see where the game goes before deciding to subscribe. WOTLK is also coming out then, and I'm excited about a few things from that game based on what I've played in the beta. I think a mistake I made was looking to another MMO when I got burnt out with WoW. It was best to just take a break from the genre as a whole rather than using that as a time to try to jump into another game.
its because before wow there really weren't many quality mmos. the first three weeks of wow were the best thing an mmo could be to me since the NGE ruined swgshakmaster13
Still pissed at SOE about the NGE crap. SWG was awesome before that.
yes i feel exactly the same, theres no feeling of scale its all too enclosed for my liking i always feel crampt and too hectic, i did like the pvp but i dont like how fast yo can level a character 40 and there arnt, from what i know, further more desirable armour sets after this so end game literally is just pvp or reroll. Not only that but despite being with thousands of other players i always felt slightly alone due to a lack of chatter despite my many efforts of attempt to talk to people. Despite all this i did enjoy the game theres balancing issues at the moment with order and des which are annoying to say the least but des just get all the cool stuff. But yes in my opinion the game has no staying power it has very low leveling requirements and what feels like an end game which is just pvp.
now this is just my opinion dont flame me i just prefer wow even though war has much better pvp.
