noticing jaggies, is there a tv setting that can affect this?

i was watching a resident evil 5 video on my 360 and noticed some serious jaggies

is there a tv setting "ie. sharpness, contrast etc." that can affect this? or is it all in the resolution of the video?

i got a high def tv running at 720p

i owuld like to know this too because I pretty much see jaggies all the time, specifically on PS3 games.

whenever i fiddle with the sharpness it doesnt do anything

every other video doesnt have it tho so i think the TGS resident evil 5 trailer is just jaggy

No, the Anti Ailiasing in videos or games comes from the game system itself. It has nothing to do with your TV. The video was most likely compressed when it was put onto the download service.

You wanna see jaggies? Hook up something older to a 1080p TV, like an N64. :D The native resolution of a 720p TV is usually 1366x768. HDTVs or whatever is connected to them basically have to "stretch" or "resample" the image to be that size. Some HDTVs really suck at this, and others do not. The same can also be true of the device that is the source of the video. And then of course, there's the format/compression of the video itself. If it is low resolution or highly compressed it won't matter how good your TV is.

Sharpening will increases edge-contrast (reduce anti-aliasing) and make jaggies more visibl.

Reduce sharpness.

Don't believe that bs about sharpness giving you jaggies. Jaggies are already there don't believe me put your sharpness all the way down and look closely were the jaggies were and you will see that they are still there. So sharpness up or down makes no difference. I am a audio/videophile and I can tell you put it all the way up your not gonna notice any of the defects sharpness gives you. The only way you'll see it is if the picture is magnefied and even then its very hard to tell.

console games are too jaggie
all cause it doesnt have the processing power to allow 2 or 4x AA
wish they did tho
GTA 4 and GT5 Prologue on my PS3 sometimes look really bad

but not a problem on my computer XD
all games i have are atleast 4x AA except ofcourse Crysis which is at 2x AA
